I hope the boy from Dundee is a better GK than Cuthbert - 7 goals conceded in two games just isn't good enough. By comparison, McGurn has conceded the same in five games and that included Hibs, Hearts, Queens and Falkirk!
Hopefully he gets a farewell outing against Livi. Worrying times ahead if he is moving on as he's saved us so many times! |
League position is safe, is it any wonder Murray is giving 'fringe' players a run out - surely it's about contracts now. bare in mind, the last couple of years when we've been safe is when Laidlaw got a run out.
Murray would be out of his mind to let McGurn go, but he has to at least give Cuthbert a chance to earn a contract next season. Personally, I don't think he's up to it - but I can see why Murray would want to give him a turn. |

You'd think, if that's the case, that the likes of Nade and Elliot would be getting more game time over the likes of Vaughan who is already contracted for next season. |

He did chuck the pair of them on together on Sunday - and you'd imagine he'd seen enough of Nade to know what he's been all about this year. Even Elliot is more of a known quantity than Cuthbert. |

Craig. Not particularly.
Vaughan is inexperienced and still learning so makes sense to give him the game time.
Stewart has eventually come onto a game, he more than most is probably playing for a contract.
Everyone, you, me, Murray knows what Nade is all about and what he offers.
Elliot is surely on his way out anyway, too prone to injury to be offered another season |

Speculating here but IF this is to be Davie's last season with us I hope the manager does the decent thing and gives the fans the chance to show the goalie our appreciation in our last home game. |

I really hope he stays, he's right up there with Murray McDermott in keepers I've seen, if not better, if he is going I hope he gets the last home game at Starks for a bit of fan appreciation, probably the only player not to divide fan opinion, a great servant, watch this now, he'll have a howler, concede 5 goals and get booed off _________________ We dont need no stinking badges |

He did concede 5 against Livi
EDIT: not solely down to him, it was an abysmal performance by the team. _________________ A proud member of the 45. Saor Alba. |

Despite re-reading the Livvi match report, as I recall it although far from great we weren't completely honking.
It was a tough break going a man down and conceding the 1st one with a penalty in the first 120 sec's, then despite only having 10 men I thought we took the game to them only for them to pick us off on the break. The ref gave us no cuttings at all as I'm sure at least the Nade shout for a pen was a good one.
I remember having the feeling that if we could get another goal in the second half to make it 2-3 they would crumble but they held out and then scored on the break again to make it 2-4 to them and it was game over.
Wasn't a great display but I was to see worse performances that had ended in narrower defeats. _________________ Competitive goals: Vaughan 16, Easton 11, Hamilton 9, Smith 7, Stanton 7, Mullin 4, Connolly 3, O'Reilly 3, Rudden 3, S Brown 1, Dick 1, Gullan 1, Masson 1, Millen 1, Mitchell 1, Murray, Watson 1, OG's 1, |

From Matthew Elder on Twitter - @mattelder_ffp: Davie McGurn confirmed after the game that he wants to stay at Raith but hasn't been spoken to yet. Full interview in Thursday's @ffp.
Well this really puts pressure on the management and the Board. Will the fan's favourite be offered a new contract? |

I wouldn't read too much into this, I have had similar conversations with him in the past and things have turned out OK in the end.
That said, he is low hanging fruit contract wise. _________________ Hope he's got plenty Rovers action to comment on tonight.... |

McGurn has won the players and supporters awards at the ceremony tonight. Unsurprisingly Murray chose someone else (Watson). _________________ If I were a fighter I'd probably kick your ass. |

Scenario..Davie is offered a contract, which is less or different to what he is on now, that he can't possibly accept.Information from the club is Davie was offered a deal and has refused to sign,we lose the best Goalie in the league and the management team come out smelling of roses.Watch this space.. |
