"Gordon Wallace Mk II scores all four goals (one penalty) in a 4-2 win over Queen's Park in a League Cup tie at Stark's Park."

Does anyone agree that it must have been Gordon Wallace Mk I the second time around?

Both overlapped at the Rovers for a brief period.

Im pretty sure I was at the game and it was indeed mk 1 who scored all 4 goals. Even in his final years as a player he was a class act.

It definitely was MK1. The return leg at Hampden was exactly 45 years ago this Saturday when, ironically, Queen's Park are our visitors.
We scraped through on penalties after losing 2-4 after extra time (1-3 in 90 minutes). A certain Ian Ballantyne did a bit of damage for the Spiders against us.

Obviously I'll be wrong on this, but my very hazy recollection is that Maestro (MkI) came in part of the deal that took MKII to Tannadice. A wee deal brokered between brothers Wullie & Jum.

On This Day
1958

Quote:
Rovers wear their legendary two blue hoops on a white strip for the very first time in a 0-5 defeat by Hearts. The strip along with navy shorts was inspired by the Hungarians.

I've always loved this Honved shirt, the hoops are a dark red, I would like something similar as an away top.

Alas, the fitba' at that time wasn't Hungarian in style.
A constant battle near the bottom until the infamous 1962-3 season. I'm still scarred with the antics of that season 🫣🥺

Aye me too , relegated and made the cup semi final, just imagine if we had beaten Celtic in that game , we'd have been in Europe and in the 2nd Division, unfortunately we didn't and the rest of course is history 😥
