Still hasn't dimmed my memory of my antics at Copenhagen station.😀

I remember it well, I was at the game with my cousin Leslie and it was a late decision by my dad and Uncle Jimmy to go.
They got in 10 mins late heard that it was already 2-0 to the good guys, cursing their luck thinking that would be it goals wise they contemplated turning tail and going straight home.....fortunately they didn't.

According to this week's Rovers digest the crowd for that day was only 2611. Eleven years later East End the New Year's Derby match would see over ten thousand in attendance. They also wouldn't see any goals as it was nil nil.

According to Wiki Pat Stanton was their manager from Dec 1980 to Sep 1982 and Tam Forsyth from Sep 1982 to Oct 1983.

The game was on 1st January 1983 so it would have been Tam Forsyth.

Indeed it was TF, well that’s what I get for being a Highland Park fuelled (or possibly fooled) insomniac and for believing the Rovers web page without checking the correct date.

I remember the two teams lining up to applaud him onto the pitch then the Chairman at the time..Provost J.M.W. Gourlay.. presenting Willie with an inscribed silver salver.
I don't think it was this game but just not sure where I also remember a game against Dundee in which Jimmy McEwan took umbridge at something Albert Henderson (long serving manager of Arbroath in the 1960's/70's) did to him or maybe it was the other way round but it ended up with Henderson sitting astride Jimmy and hammering punches into his face, enough to break his nose. It took place by the touchline about where the current 'dug outs' are. Albert was obviously sent off but not sure if Jimmy was taken off or just kept playing on after treatment from trainer Willie Hunter. No subs back then.
