I have seen a lot of people involved in debates about the manager and whether he should go or not. Setting this up to see how many people are for and against him leaving. Would be good to see what people think about the way things should be going.
I personally think he has done a brilliant job for us but that's in the past. His recent run of results aren't something I like the look of. The form is terrible, morale is low and he doesn't change anything. I believe he should be allowed a bit more time but on one condition, he goes to a coaching class on how to use subs and change a game before its too late!!
I have voted for him to stay. Mainly because I do still believe he can get us through it but I'm close to the edge, and I'm sick of yelling 'get it changed' at the games. |

I dont think anyone is happy at how we are performing and the managers seemingly lack of decision making and ideas in how to change it. However, changing the manager at this point in the season is a high risk strategy. Who would we get ? All the decent managers are already at clubs, we cant afford compensation, leaving us with the out of work usual suspects, no thanks.
To me the proper course of action is for the BoD to talk to McGlynn, give him some targets over the next few weeks and not only DEMAND change but instruct it, he is an employee after all. Force the issue.
I still have faith that the manager can turn things around. I do think his contract will not be renewed though when it is up and if he is still with us. |

do not see why it would be high risk strategy changing the manager at this time of the season . now earlier in the season would be the better time if at all as opposed to say after another 6 or 10 games of no improvement . |

Getting rid of McGlynn would be pretty daft.
In the last 3 seasons, he's won the 2nd Division, retained our 1st Divsion status and got us to the semi-final of the Scottish Cup (beating Aberdeen away in the process - one of the best ever cup results I can recall) and then mounted a title challenge right up until a sell-out league decider against the Pars. That's the big picture, the few games we've played this season are not.
I'll be honest and say I don't like the style of football much, but I see SPL teams and they are just as bad and I haven't seen any 1st Division games this season where the opposition are markedly better than us. Scottish football is honking at the moment but John McGlynn isn't to blame for that. _________________ This is the year we win the Play-offs. |

Give him the next 2 home games to see if he can turn things around. If not, goodbye and all the best wishes, for his time here.
However, if we get soundly beaten on Saturday by a relegation rival, then I can't see him remaining here. |

In not changing it he is making a decision - the decision not to change things. I agree that his use of subs is sometimes far too late in games, and when the game is beyond us. _________________ This is the year we win the Play-offs. |

That's more or less what I was thinking. If we were to lose heavily at the weekend I can see how it should be the end, but if results were to go our way things could be a lot rosier. Sacking anybody in the lead-up to a relegation six pointer is probably very counter productive.
We're due a win against Ayr anyway, and Saturday would be a brilliant time to get it. _________________ "I'd much rather be playing Bayern Munich and be competitive for thirty minutes, than murdering Stockport 8-0 in the Freight Paint-Rolling Trophy or whatever it's called." |

Does the OP have the money in his back pocket to pay Mr. McGlynn's severance?
I think it is established that the Club is "pink lint", therefore, the only way he will leave will be to see out his contract. _________________ Hope he's got plenty Rovers action to comment on tonight.... |

The only place McGlynn should be going is to visit Claudio Ranieri for lessons on how to change a team and use substitutes. Good manager who is being let down by a select few and his unwillingness to shake things up a bit. |

When he's there he might ask him what a good midfield looks like. |

You'd think Paul Smith could give him a few pointers. Alternatively, pick up the phone and call Paquito.
There could have been an additional option i.e. 'Give JMcG a bit more time' since 3 of next 4 games are at home, see if he can change/turn things around. There's no such option, so I've selected 'Stay'. |

Clearly yes since it's five years later and the club is still in existence. If we didn't have the money to pay Daz off then we wouldn't be in this position that we are now. _________________ "I'd much rather be playing Bayern Munich and be competitive for thirty minutes, than murdering Stockport 8-0 in the Freight Paint-Rolling Trophy or whatever it's called." |

Its moments like this that really go to prove the average IQ round here......!
McGlynn has taken us from the brink of relegating to the 3rd division to a solid 1st division club. Last year we were a kick of luck away from being back in the top division.
I have issues with McGlynns selection policy yes but he is the man who sees the most of them in training and all the rest! Rather than running the guy who has reinvigerated our club out of town how about actually getting behind him and the team.
He has brought us the first real goalscorer we have had in god knows how long - took us to hampden for the first time not Queens PArk related in a heck of a long time!!
Engage your brains and get behind him! I can see why he went for full-timers if you look at the others clubs being all but fulltime and the trend in the league that the part-time sones have tended to be the one getting relegated!!!!!! _________________ Cameron....Salmond....Daily Mail = euuuurgh |
