Hendry is a free agent from Forest Green Rovers, wonder if he is on the radar for a return? |

I would love to have him back.
That stated, I don’t think we could afford him.
Pretty sure FGR would have been paying considerably more than what RRFC could afford.
I would love to be wrong though. _________________ Born a Rover Live a Rover Die a Rover |

Love to see him back as well, offer him player managers job 😁
However if he does come back north I think it'll be to the likes of a Motherwell, St Mirren, St Johnstone, Livvi maybe Dundee or Utd.
Didn't Hibs express an interest to at one point? _________________ Competitive goals: Easton 7, Vaughan 7, Hamilton 6, Smith 6, Stanton 3, Mullin 2, Connolly 2, Dick 1, Gullan 1, Masson 1, Millen 1, Mitchell 1, Watson 1, OG's 1, |

Is there any indication he even wants to return north?
Not like he has failed down there so I’m sure there will be interest from all over offering money we couldn’t come close to matching unfortunately |

I think Mullin wraps up the midfield signings, with Spencer the only possible “addition” remaining.
It’s time for a keeper and three+ defenders. Perhaps another, younger attacker if Spencer leaves. |

We have Hamilton, Vaughan, Gullan and Mitchell in the striker role…I don’t see another attacker unless Spencer leaves.
As I said, yes, a Keeper.
Two CB, at least one a “leader” type…and a FB capable of playing both sides.

8 think Tex is right - max of 4 more signings, all at the back - two at centre, a fullback and a GK. Perhaps one or two of them on loan from wherever, as I wouldn't mind another O'Riordan, but experience needed in there somewhere too..... |

If it wasn’t for Dundee United and their huge income from tickets coming down, I’d be all in on pushing out the boat to sign Hendry…but next year is not the time to push for promotion. If we do it, great, but we need a couple of years of “the village idiots” plans to be ready. |

I'd be hugely surprised if Regan returned to us - and, yes, either of the Dundee clubs would be well up a list of suitors if he's coming back to Scotland
But Tex, can you explain what you're on about regarding any Rovers push for promotion being some time off? And elucidate on your 'village idiots' comment while you're at it?
Unless you're into parochial local gossip (which would be some feat at some 6000 miles distant), would it not be more supportive to talk up Rovers' ambitions for the coming year? |

Before anyone misconstrues that Tex (not that anyone ever would ). I am guessing you mean some kind of rough, home made blueprint on the part of the club to land safely, should we accidentally fall upwards, i.e. "Promotion to The Scottish Premiership For Dummies" - as opposed to a pop at the new owners? |

“The Village Idiots” - A phrase used on P&B derisively during the rumoured takeover that has since become an endearing jab at the people that felt the Kelty mob was about to screw up the Rovers…mixed my forums, but still like it as a fun way to remember how well the village team did under them.
Bad to push for promotion next year - Dundee United will have a budget probably at least twice that of any other team in the Championship, and will be pushing hard to bounce right back up. It would be foolhardy to stake anything on a push to get promoted next season, especially as our new village overlords indicated a goal of promotion in a few years, if you listened to their interviews. I got the impression that the plan is to roll out a “B” team after next season, while continuing the improvements at SP, all as part of a positioning to make a sustained push for promotion with a club that can get up AND stay up. While none of the new owners would refuse a promotion next year, I bet that behind closed doors they’d say they would much prefer it in 2-4 years.
To be clear, very happy with the village, er, new management. |

Bad to push for promotion on the basis we are all playing for 2nd behind Dundee Utd?!
They have kept on their failure of a manager while their squad needs a total overhaul…While money does talk in football, I certainly wouldn’t be putting them down as any sort of certainty to bounce back up at 1st attempt, if anything, they are a poor start away from their next crisis! |
