Was it not Kelty that relegated Brechin and Cowdenbeath who were relegated by Bonnyrigg? |
It was but what I meant was they'd be the 1st Pyramid system clubs to return to their former status. _________________ Competitive goals: Easton 7, Vaughan 7, Hamilton 6, Smith 6, Stanton 3, Mullin 2, Connolly 2, Dick 1, Gullan 1, Masson 1, Millen 1, Mitchell 1, Watson 1, OG's 1, |

So it'll be Spartans v the Wee Rovers in the coming week for League Two status.
Brechin must be gutted after the mammoth task in winning the Highland League last week in the last game of the season against the formidable effort of Buckie Thistle.
I really thought that they'd get through this but it's fitba'. Nothing guaranteed. _________________ Talk on! Talk on!

As good a side as Spartans are do we really want a 4th Edinburgh team in the leagues? |

A small, well run provincial club…if they make it, can’t argue they don’t deserve it but do they add much to the league? Not for me.
The ground is modern but basic, facilities good but the sad fact is, they have a tiny fan base which isn’t going to grow substantially any time soon or in the future while in the shadows of Edinburgh’s big two.
Albion Rovers might play at a bit of a dump in front of few fans but what they have going for them is history, a story… they are where they are in table on merit but they haven’t been awful and have actually finished the season with only -1 goal difference which is almost unheard of for a team finishing bottom of ANY league.
So personally, I’m a bit of a romantic, if Albion were to go down, would have liked it to be Brechin who have fought back strong, not to be so it’s now Albion or a little ‘hollow’ sports club? Mon the Wee Rovers I say! |

I think Brechins plight highlights the importance of not dropping out through the trap door. Its so very difficult to get back given the current pyramid structure.
Went to the Buckie Brechin title decider in front of nearly 3000 fans which was a great occasion after a mammoth season. I thought they would come through the play offs but not to be.
I see Mchattie missed their penalty. |

Winners of the West of Scotland and South of Scotland leagues, Beith and Abbey Vale do not have the appropriate SFA license, therefore there will be no play-off round robin meaning Linlithgow Rose go into the Lowland League. _________________ Hope he's got plenty Rovers action to comment on tonight.... |

Things looking Rosey for the Posey!🙄
Out of interest, does anyone know if their manager David McGlyn is any relation to John?

Davie McGlynn is John's nephew.
I didn't think he was Linlithgow's manager any more, unless like his uncle he's gone back for a second stint. _________________ Dougie Hill

Thanks.
I wasn't aware he'd left the Rose, never mind it being seven years ago.🤠 _________________ Talk on! Talk on!

Full time 6-2. Mountain to climb now for McGlynn's Falkirk. Notabley, Airdrie have emulated last season without IM. Who would bet against them coming up this time? |
