Strange game. Sam Stanton and Ross Matthews both played well but yet we surrendered the midfield for long spells. Part of a new tactic in an attempt to concede fewer goals? Certainly, Dylan Easton also played deeper and more defensive minded. Makes us less attractive to watch ,but we achieved a rare clean sheet ( no, I'm not forgetting Kev's superb contribution ).
LV was quiet by his standards but worked back and contributed significantly to both goals. Zak Rudden was less effective in getting us up the park than in recent games and Jack, probably, had the better game.
Pity Smithy missed his penalty as he seems short of confidence at the moment ,but a three goal margin would have flattered us.
On to Tuesday. A good time to be facing Patrick or is that tempting the fates?

I would just like to comment on the “ lady announcer”……I LOVED the tone and enthusiasm with which she spoke. A real , let’s get behind the team tone/ edge to her voice.

I don’t mean to criticise the Gentleman who has been doing it for decades, just simply that it is different, and I happen to like it.

Qudos to them both.👍👏👏 Very Happy

That was Christina Beatty, whom you can see often on the Oh No No No Podcast.

Well done IM and the boys! Clean-sweep of wins over the Pars this season, our first win by more than one goal - and a clean-sheet as well!

The statistical nerd in me almost wishes that we could have kept the 1 goal margin sequence going but if had been at the game I am sure with 5 minutes to go I would not have been wishing for a 2-1 lead instead of 2-0, even less so after a penalty miss.

The first clean sweep in a 36 game season against anyone since 2017/18. Back then it was against East Fife and Queen’s Park.

Spot on.
We took max points off Montrose and Airdrie in 2019/20 and Alloa and Morton in 2020/21, albeit these were shortened seasons.

The best total of wins by one goal in a 36 game season was apparently Berwick Rangers 2006/2007, with 16 wins. The most one goal wins was 19 in a 44 game season by Hearts 1991/1992, and second was Celtic with 18 out of 38 in 2006/2007.

Hearts in 2009/2010 had 12 of 13 wins happen by 1 goal for a 92.3% 1 goal win rate.

We currently stand at 15 of 16 by 1 goal, for 93.7%, and are thus 2 short of the highest total in a 36 game season.

I do not want to sound like Moros the Greek God of impending doom here, but.......

Like many of you other Auld Codgers I have seen it all before, and this game has the potential to produce one of those, "Stars are all aligned" moments to cut us off at the knee. Friday was a performance I have seen many times before, but I have to say, I did not think I would see such an inept performance from this team, this season; and I am now worried.

The Pars have started to come together of late, just as we seem to be slightly unravelling. So I have changed my demeanour from that of, "Happy Clapper" to, "Anxious Heilan Man".
I'm sorry. I can't help it. My many years of Rovers experience has shown me that we Rovers Fans get a wee bit of success which is inexplicably torn away from us just when we think we are on the cusp of something good.

My only hope is the Derby atmosphere can pull the team back to playing some of the good football we had been witnessing. Sadly, A hae ma doots.

So. COYR and prove an auld sceptic that things really have changed? PLEASE!

THANKS Lads. You have put an auld moaning sceptic such as myself firmly back in my box.

So. More of the same against Partick please? Onward and upward.

COYR

Pics on the other channel of damaged and defaced seats and trashed toilets in the away end

Hopefully the club will be looking for recompense

You'll see how awful this is on the Walking down the Halbeath Road thread and the New Raith Rovers thread.
What bothers me is that we also have an element in our support that are complete dumps from the derrière and will be itching to get back to East End to reciprocate some time in the future.
More than likely the same idiots that think throwing flares on the pitch or worse, landing on fellow fans.🤬🤬

The damage is shameful. The words are horrendous. “Die” and “hang the Raith c***s”. Hope they find who did this.

Regrettably this crime will not be solved as easily as the attack on the young Rovers fan on Halbeath Road.

Agree we have our own numpties but lets not tun this around to ours. This about the absolutely numpties from along the road that thinks it a good idea to deface seats and trash the toilets

We have had many an away support including a damn sight more Utd than Dunfermline without this nonsense

In 1962-63 the Rovers had a 100% record of one goal winning margins. 2 out of 2! (34 game season) No one can better that.
