Vaughan aside it was an off day at the office pretty much all round, stinkers for Brown and big Kev especially but a good few other too.

Should have had a pen in the 1st half and hopefully Stants isn't too badly injured.

Ironic that Sam should sign a new contract then get crocked, also that the gaffer should sing Kev's praises for his shot stopping ability only for him to have a mare. Chalmer's goal aside I reckon he'll feel he could have done better with them all.

It's not all down to Kev though, defensively we were brutal.

Very balanced interview with IM by Niall. Just struck the right note on an evening when a lot went wrong ( and he didn't allow there to be an elephant in the room and, instead ,brought up big Kev's unfortunate faux pas ) but other good things had to
be acknowledged.
It's been said many, many times, but we are so, so lucky to have the volunteers at Raith TV and I wish them ( and everyone connected to Raith Rovers ) a very Merry Christmas!
It's a wonderful time to be a supporter of The Rovers.

Hopefully just a blip?

I agree with getting Brown back into midfield. I can't quite understand keeping O'Reilly on the bench when he has played so well on each appearance? Maybe some other non footballing or personal reason? Whatever the reason we have to shore up the midfield. More than once last night Ayr strolled forward through the centre of the park with our guys backing away and nobody attempting a tackle? This lead to two of their goals!

Some of the guys looked tired last night and I thought we might have utilised the subs earlier? I'm sorry to sound a bit negative, but that was not the same Rovers performance we have been watching for the past few weeks.

However. We must not forget those GREAT performances, or allow last night to dull our enthusiasm. The positives of the game were, we did keep fighting, and we did secure a draw. Indeed we might have won had Lewis' late header not just scraped by the post.

I hope Sam's injury turns out to be less serious than it looked. We would hope the fact he hobbled off and did not go straight down the tunnel might indicate a lesser problem?

I’d like to start by accepting that a point is by no means a disaster considering the position/s we were in at points in that 2nd half along with the favourable score line at Hampden…

However… The naive (at best) defending against 10 men for best part was criminal. The space gifted to their forwards to just gallop unattended toward our goal?

Our keeper was suspect for all four goals and didn’t cover himself in glory in one or two other shaky moments.

1st goal, plenty time to see it, got down in plenty time but still failed to keep it out. Poor

2nd goal, basic positional awareness all wrong

3rd goal, same again, offered too much of goal to aim at

4th goal, could have stood up and trapped it with his foot it was that bad

The help he had from his teammates was lacking and the 2nd and 3rd goals were so well taken that they probably would have beaten him anyway but still a night to forget for Big Kev!

Vaughan saved our bacon, two beautiful headers and should have had another!

Hindsight is great and all that but our manager really should have shored things up a bit for 2nd half, at 11 v 10 and a goal up you really don’t need to having a basketball type match

Anyhoo, I’ve got rambling again so apologies. Well chuffed with season so far and the big games just keep coming and coming…let’s go!

Thanks Wolfie, but why was/is there no "official" link on the Raith TV tab whilst there was for the pre match interview stuff?

Media have been super busy producing the Oscar nominated film of the gaffer (and Mickey, hopefully?) accepting his/their new three year contract extension. 😄
Also another good 'un from the Inside the Match Day feature.🫡👍
Or it could be that the talked about upgrade to the website is close to being done and the media team is keeping the content to a minimum.🤔
Or somebody has just forgotten to update the page.🫣
Most likely the latter of all the reasons given.😉

PS. You'll notice that the gaffer's contract extension isn't yet on the website despite hitting the headlines yesterday.
