Saw a small tribute piece to the late Francis Lee on Match of the Day yesterday and every time he scored his team mates shook his hand or patted him on the back as he and team mates headed back to the centre circle and the kick off.
No histrionics, body or knee sliding, cupping of ears etc. Just a case of job done and now let's get on with the rest of the game.
Aye! Changed days indeed

I remember the late Sir Terry Wogan talking about the same thing Embow. He recalled the humorous contrast of when he was at School. If you scored a Try at Rugby, you ran back to the centre line with your head held low. This was because you were embarrassed at having drawn attention to yourself!

Changed days indeed?

Cut Lewie some slack, guys!
He's come back from 4 ACLs . No doubt, in his darkest days, the thought of scoring again at professional level would be one thing that would spur him on.
So ,although in general I'm not a great fan of celebrating in front of away fans, Lewis Vaughan , so far as I'm concerned, has more than earned the right to milk every goal, every moment of success , that he has for the rest of his football career!!

Absolutely no issue with our players celebrating in front of away fans or opposition players celebrating in front of us. The pelters that players get from opposing fans during a game, I see no issue in any player giving something back. If someone cannot take that then don't dish anything out

My observation was purely based on how things have changed over a period of time. I have no issue with players celebrating in front of those dishing out abuse as long as it's not completely OTT leading to idiots and similar roasters trying to get on to the pitch or launching missiles of whatever type on to the pitch or indeed directly at the player.
I was not picking on Lewie, merely just offering a general observation of how much things have changed in the game over a period of time, in respect of what is now accepted practice.
