Thanks Alex - I think I will do that - should avoid the camels coming down the road from Dundee

Language does indeed evolve but rarely accurately.
Just look at how the noun access has evolved into a verb! You get or gain or have access to something. You don't access something. Methinks we're too late, alas, with this one.🥺

Just dinnae even think about getting me started on "should of"!🫣😠

Getting the thread back on topic it would seem that the weather may well have a big influence on how the game pans out. Looking likely to be very wet and breezy.

"Ask". That has gone the opposite way, verb to noun. "A win over Dundee Utd. is a big ask"

Utd fans looking to get train to the game tomorrow are going to find it tough. Due to forecasted weather the trains are running on an emergency timetable tomorrow.
No aberdeen to Edinburgh trains. Dundee to Edinburgh are running but reduced to one an hour.

Artificial pitch, or not, I would not be surprised if this is called off. There are also the travel issues and the safety aspect of both players and spectators to be taken into consideration.
All of the above is, of course, dependent on how bad the rain is in the hours before kick off. Being on the east coast might help mitigate slightly against the deluge (with its amber warning⚠️) which is being forecast.

If the forecast is accurate will the access to Kirkcaldy be hampered? I usually come from the bridge via B9157 and sometimes the water on the road has resulted in a closure. I will leave early and I think the best route might be through Burntisland.

The other forecast of 6-0 - yes I am down with that. Is that turn of phrase permitted by the northern grammar polis?

Sorry for the linguistics Rant Willie. It's thon Grumpy Auld Age affliction wot done it. You can be down with whatever you please Man.

Would be disappointing but there must be a chance that it might be called off. If the advise is not to travel unless necessary

I have a feeling this game good be a confidence crusher. Sad

I hope I am wrong. Although we are only 1point behind, that in itself doesn’t mean much as regards performance.

What Dundee Utd are doing is scoring for fun. They are obviously creating and taking the chances as they come, we on the other hand are taking some chances but passing up on others. ie. We are not clinical enough. I think chances for us will be few and to have much hope, then our players are going to have to capitalise on the few we make.

Our players are used to playing on a watered pitch, hopefully the reported deluge will remain WNW of us and not be as bad as forecast.
Whether it goes ahead or not tomorrow it will have to be played down line if it is cancelled.
I can see them being strong throughout on the basis of what has gone before and that could end up with it all going down to our head to head clashes.

Think am gonna have a wee word with the man up stairs and ask for a wee bit of luck the morra. Rolling Eyes

If things are that bad and the game at Dens already off to save County travelling down, you’d think a pitch inspection would be on the cards or the police stepping in on safety issues.
Just a thought.
ETA Dunfermline game off now.

A terrible shame about the dreadful conditions today. However it’s a massive game for the club both on and off the pitch. Fingers crossed we can get a point or three!! COYR

From the updates

0. Vaughan kicks off the match. Raith shooting into North Stand.

Prefer if they were shooting in to the goal rather than the stand!🫣😉

Sorry but I just couldn't resist Rolling Eyes
