Since we now know that there won't be an appointment before the general election, here's your chance to influence the board. Candidates are the first 15 from McBookies list. |

Steve Aitken for myself. He's done tremendous work with Stranraer. I'd be happy with either him, Adams or Lennon. If we can get someone who implements a philosophy of keeping the ball on the deck and trying to provide an attractive, progressive philosophy then we'll have no complaints. With this in mind, we'll need to be realistic in that any change will take time. |

There was a chat with Steve Aitken on Alba last Saturday. He has a really good job with Rolls-Royce,so I'd be surprised if he gave it up for us. My choice would be Allan Johnston from the list of candidates. |

There are plenty of reasonable candidates there. I wonder if the board will come up with someone not even on the list though. _________________ If I were a fighter I'd probably kick your ass. |

If I could choose any of them Terry Butcher would be a no brainer, but that aint going to happen. |

Not on the list, but I'd say Mark Burchill. |

Gus McPherson has done very well with Queen's Park. Would he be able to step up to a higher level? Maybe. If he gets them through the play offs. _________________ Talk on! Talk on!

Probably, given he already got St Mirren promoted as manager to the highest level in Scotland |

Elvis for me first choice , I didn't know he was available ,reasons , young, ambitious, good bit of managerial experience behind him now. I liked the way he used to set up and have Falkirk play . Loved his brown shoes.
Second choice Gus McPherson , reasons , journeyman gaffer, worked at many levels of the game and did very well with St Mirren. Plenty of experience and contacts within the game.
Third choice Butcher. Reasons , played at the highest level. Tough no nosence gaffer. Had success and failure but if given time can put together a good side. Has been at the club before many years ago briefly as a coach which might persuade him to come back even if the package isn't that great.
Some folk will shoot me down for these choices but I feel they are good. I really don't want to go with a former player as a manager anymore as it hasn't worked very well in the past. _________________ Only on fan talk can supporters find a negative in a 5-0 win. 🤔 |

I'll raise you a Gus McPherson as long as you leave the Butcher at the bottom o' the pack facedoon! As for Elvis? Has he no' left the building yet? If no' then he should be on his way pronto! _________________ Talk on! Talk on!

Don't get why Pressley is so popular?
He is associated with developing young players and blooding them into 1st team. This club (especially at the moment) doesn't shout out "come and tap all the potential superstars from our youth set up". I'm also not aware that our plans for near future involve improving and splashing out on developing young players?
For people who like the hard facts ( like the ones that didn't mind our rubbish football under Murray this season because we finished 6th in table)... Pressley was relegated as manager of Falkirk, failed to get them up again next year or two in a pretty weak 1st Div. went to Coventry and pretty much failed to improve anything.
YES he brought through a number of good players at Falkirk (their academy has a lot of money pumped into it though) and YES he had good spells down South in what was a seriously difficult time for Coventry (admin, point deductions, losing home ground etc)
Don't think he is a bad manager, just feel he is still unproven to an extent and our club and he aren't a great fit. |
