Who would you expect to see there? |
Well, your namesake would be good for starters.
I'm not saying they are all non-starters (should have said "largely underwhelmed" perhaps), but a good few of them are in the bland category. _________________ Competitive goals: Vaughan 18, Easton 11, Hamilton 10, Smith 9, Stanton 7, Mullin 4, Connolly 3, O'Reilly 3, Rudden 3, S Brown 1, Dick 1, Gullan 1, Masson 1, Millen 1, Mitchell 1, Murray, Watson 1, OG's 1, |

There are no 'sexy' names out there right now.
Who knows, Rovers may decide to look further afield, like Hibs did with Stubbs.
Just an idea, I know he's an ex-Rover and we've had our fill of them, but this guy is doing well assisting Robbie Neilson......Stevie Crawford??? _________________ A proud member of the 45. Saor Alba. |

There are at least 10 names on that list who I would be confident would do a better job than Murray has. _________________ If I were a fighter I'd probably kick your ass. |

Its a decent list of largely available managers with experience, some at a higher level.
I actually think this will be a sought after position.
Thankfully the dinosaurs haven't made it onto the list.
From the above - Adams would get my vote. |

Jim Jeffries and Billy Brown great motivators with a wealth of knowledge and contacts, but then it's the age thing. Although Frank Connor was no spring chicken when he came to Starks Park. |

Not so sure on that one, appeared to really buckle under pressure when at EF to the point where during one game he hijacked the tannoy and went mental at the fans followed by a meltdown during his post match interview.
EDIT: Also completely mis-read you suggesting Jim Jeffries. Are you mental? |

Jeffries last outing was pretty dismal and I'm not sure getting the guy who taught McGlynn who taught Murray is gonna provide the 'attractive football' the board craves.
As for Brown, went totally raving loony tunes when he was at EF, seriously check out the post match interview he did after a Stenny vs EF game, totally lost it.
It's not simply an age thing, it's the fact that, as Sick Boy opined in trainspotting: "Well, at one time, you've got it, and then you lose it, and it's gone forever. All walks of life: George Best, for example. Had it, lost it. Or David Bowie, or Lou Reed... " |
