McGurn for me. The only thing is he's a part-timer (I know he's a goalie, but as others have said, there's no barriers to goalies being skippers), but he can be pretty inspirational.
I'm sure Walker will end up somewhere like Alloa. Been a good player for us but looks as if he needs a fresh start. |

Not DMcG as over all I prefer not to have keepers as Capt's, also for me if his leadership is a hot as his free kick wall arranging then we'd be in for some trouble.
That's not to say I'm against Dave, he's at tremendous keeper that I'm delighted to have back as our No#1 but every time we had a free kick within range against us last season my heart was in my mouth. _________________ Competitive goals: Vaughan 18, Easton 11, Hamilton 10, Smith 9, Stanton 7, Mullin 4, Connolly 3, O'Reilly 3, Rudden 3, S Brown 1, Dick 1, Gullan 1, Masson 1, Millen 1, Mitchell 1, Murray, Watson 1, OG's 1, |

I'd certainly have McGurn as club captain with someone else as match captain. |

WHY NOT ? as I say club captain not match captain, don't you think his loyalty deserves rewarding ? I don't understand what part time has to do with it. If the whole team was part time, then i guess under your ideals, we'd have to do without a captain !! |

Surely the only reason to have a seperate club and team captain is if the club captain is unlikely to play, not the other way round |

My understanding of the roles is that the 'team' captain is the driving force on the pitch and the 'club' captain is the social force of the team. _________________ Hope he's got plenty Rovers action to comment on tonight.... |

Watching Italy v Spain, both 'keepers, Buffon and Casillas are the skippers. They're the most respected players on their teams, so why shouldn't Davie be skipper? It doesn't matter that he's part time....... |

I would give it to davie on the basis that he will most likely play the majority of games next season, and he is one of the longest servants. |

I agree with your first part, but disagree with the latter, he is only 5' 11" _________________ Hope he's got plenty Rovers action to comment on tonight.... |

So its Jason Thomson, going from what we've seen in the friendlies so far, even when Davie was between the sticks v Hibs.
I suppose Jason is viewed as a likely regular, which I totally agree with, and is full-time, but for me, he's not the sort of player that can inspire others to take his lead. Time will tell....................
Good luck Jason |
