Feet firmly back on ground for this encounter. QP played very well against the Pars and will be confident. Hopefully we will recover after the setback on Saturday.

Maybe time to rest Easton and give Connolly the start. Like Easton but definitely off the boil. Also wonder if it’s time to re-blood Corr and Masson.

We need to seriously up our game, agree with your comments re Easton, this week should see a clearer picture with what's happening with O'Reilly if he does leave then yeah time to blood Corr back into the team or he'll be another one away come the summer when his contract is up

We’re probably light again at the back…we need to either go 3-5-2/3-6-1 or find a RB. We know McGill is versatile, but Masson has played well there before too. At CB we likely will use Brown and Corr, but I guess Dick is a possibility if we put McGill (or Hannah) at LB. Or there’s also the idea of Brown at RB, Corr and Masson or Dick at CB and Dick or McGill/Hannah at LB then.

Given what we’ve seen from IM, the preferred solutions would involve McGill or Brown (if Matthews is good to start a match), followed by Corr, then Masson and finally Hannah.

There are still questions of Murray’s injury and Watson’s status, so it’s all a crap shoot.

QP may well have a new manager in place by the time we play them. Callum Davidison in advanced talks with them.

This has become a bigger game than it was looking a week or so ago. Obviously when you are top of the league every game is a big one but now its all about arresting a slump on form that has seen us take five points from the last twelve available. That's mid table form and but for several incredible last gasp victories mid table is where we would be. So I guess it over to the management and players to prove to Scottish media who reckon our bubble has burst if we deserve to be where we are or have we just been lucky.
Coincidentally we seem to have a problem playing on artificial pitches. All but two of the sixteen points we have dropped so far have been on such surfaces.

Strange assumption that one about the surface. Are you suggesting if Airdrie played on grass they wouldn’t have beaten us? Injury time goals at likes of Thistle, Hampden, Arbroath were aided by the grass? Gonna call bulls*** on that one and suggest Airdrie have had our number regardless = 8 of the points and regarding the 8 dropped at home, more about our own slackness /game management issues than any surface.

You can call whatever you like on that information SB, it still doesn't change it. My point being that usually it's inferred that teams get a home advantage from playing on artificial pitches but that certainly isn't the case for us.

We haven,t lost a home league game and sit third in the table on home form behind Airdrie and Partick Thistle who have played 2 more home games than us

Agree with SB regarding Airdrie having our number

We haven’t lost a game at home since April.

We have the current best home record in the league (based on point % per game)

As I pointed out, half of the 16 points have been dropped to one team, can you give an explanation why you think this may be down to the surface which each game is played on?

Take Airdrie out of this equation and we have dropped six points at home….
A well deserved draw v a good Dundee Utd side.
A draw v Ayr which we should have won easily but contrived to concede awfully defended goals.
A draw v Arbroath which should have been a routine victory but for a freak goal and a late penalty, both after we passed up numerous chances to move three goals in front.

Having attended every game this season bar a couple, I have seen zero evidence to back up what you are suggesting?

On the contrary, I feel we have been fortunate not to lose at Partick, got lucky at Gayfield and pulled off a miracle at Hampden which in turn ‘flatter’ our points return on the green stuff. If you are being super critical… there hasn’t been an away game all season in the league we have been comfortably the better team! Holding on at end v Ayr and Morton, 95min penalty up in Inverness whereas I can’t think of a game at Starks that we didn’t get at least what we deserved?

Nah fair play, you're right SB. Some excellent if not depressing facts about our performances and results on both grass and artificial which I can't argue with.

The thing I find about astro surfaces is they can be manipulated to suit the home team far more effectively that grass we for example soak the pitch allowing for the ball to hlide effortlessly aiding in the fast passing style we know well whereas Airdrie keep theirs sticky as possible effectively putting a stop to our style of play. I think part of the problem is past the halfway point teams figure out your style 🤔 maybe time to change and take teams by surprise once more for the second phase of the season perhaps?

As long as we don't buckle under the "new manager bounce" syndrome we should be ok.🤞
