I'm sure Grant, like most people I've encountered within football, is a perfectly amenable man and good fun to be around. Unfortunately I do think he is out of his depth as manager of our club. I am happy that we remain undefeated in our last four outings but how many of us can honestly say that we are not lucky to be in that position. There has been an improvement since Malpas was appointed and I am not a believer in coincidence. |

Simple things like an apology from Murray or a player after some of our many shambolic performances over the last 12 months would've helped bridge that gap no end. |

Saying it's a fact you won't be back as long as Murray is in charge is strange stance to take. As unlikely as it may be we might yet make the playoffs and/or beat Rangers in the cup. If we had some massive games towards the season end would you still stubbornly refuse to attend because the board didn't sack someone? |
As you say the club have done something to arrest the decline in the appointment of Malpas. 4 games unbeaten so it has had an impact. Hopefully the fans can recognise this and get behind the team positively. |
Firstly, I don't hate Murray. Hate is a futile emotion. It is however fair to say that I do not rate his management capabilities at our level, and I've seen nothing over the last year to suggest he's getting things right. Until he's gone from that sphere of influence I will not be persuaded otherwise in my views (save for a remarkable and IMHO highly unlikely serious upturn in our performances that can be directly attributed to Murray).
Feel free to queue up and buy the tickets to the mythical cup semi or mythical playoff place. I will not be dismayed if they sell out without my involvement.
For recent performances I have to rely on opinions posted on this website. It would seem that we are still generally inept in front of goal, and still playing gash for large portions of matches. Not exactly stuff that would inspire a stay away like myself to start turning up again.
Stubborn? Maybe. That's my choice. |
Everyone has the right to react to players/managers/teams the way they want and you are perfectly within your right to stay away for as long as you want. But stating categorically that even if performances improve or even if the team successfully progresses through the cup to a semi-final or final then you won't be back because of Murray seems bizarre in the extreme.
My whole problem with our support is that a sense of proportion and perspective is seriously lacking at moment. Realistically given the resource gap we were never going to finish above Rangers, Hearts and Hibs. So we were effectively competing for fourth with the likes of Falkirk, QOS, Dumbarton and Livingston etc. We started well then went through a poor run of form which seems to have been arrested in recent weeks. We are currently six behind Falkirk (who we beat recently) with a game in hand. Win that game in hand and we are three points off the best placing we probably could have hoped for. OK we aren't playing consistently scintillating, free flowing, passing football but aside from Hearts who is in this league? It's not the Armageddon season people are acting like it is.
I'm sure we've all witnessed more dispiriting seasons and stuck with it. We've had far worse managers and stuck with it. I find it odd that a strong dislike of Grant Murray who is relatively new to managemenot and remains unproven either way as a manager - he's not setting the heather on fire but nor is he dragging us headlong towards league 1 - is the person that makes someone abandon their club. It's your right but I still find it bizarre. _________________ I don't want to go to Idaho, I'd rather watch Christian Nade |

I'm not quite in the Kirky camp, as my season ticket gets an occasional outing to Starks. However, even after 3 wins and a draw, i'm still not a Murray fan. If he left tomorrow very few fans would be bothered. Sometimes a change is needed to freshen things up. The board obviously feel that the change required was Malpas. Time will tell.
The atmosphere at Starks, which this thread is all about, is *beep* awful. Very few fans can be bothered singing or even providing encouragement.
Can the board do anything to change that? _________________ This is the year we win the Play-offs. |

There appears to be an aloofness about Murray and Ellis towards the fans.
John McGlynn always acknowledged the fans. I may be wrong but has Murray ever done so? Not that I have seen. Ellis has on several occasions turned around to the support wth disdain when things have visibly been going badly and the fans were getting restless.
Even the non-goalkeeper goalkeeping coach had a go at fans voicing their displeasure at being outplayed by a Junior outfit at Linlithgow.
Murray also steadfastly refuses to comment on or see games as everyone else saw them making light of problems and overlooking what everyone else witnessed. That is a particular annoyance of mine. |

Correlation does not imply causation. At the same time, we had Dave McGurn and Dougie Hill come back into the team, an uptick in performances from McKeown as well as a change in our central midfield (forced by injury) - at the same time you have Watson claiming that malpas hasn't really been involved with training, and Malpas himself has said he'd never interfere with Murray's team selection. Honestly, Murray does deserve some credit for 10 out of 12 points in the last four games, not for anything radical but by being able to build a decent squad at the start of the season and finally being able to put an approximate of that on the park. I don't think there is a genius at work there, but he's not doing much wrong in how he sets the team out to play now that he has a full squad available. |

Wasn't there supports groups who were specifically going to improve the atmosphere at games or did I imagine that? This isnt a slam at any particular group(so no need to PM me and demand I remove my opinion from the forum as has happened in the past ) |

There is an active group that meets up and discusses ways to move the fan experience forward.
The Roary Club, South stand revamping and scheduled visits to schools, clubs etc are just a few of the ideas that have came to fruition. |

Every regular fan, try and bring a mate or lapsed supporter into the match on Saturday. Even offer to buy them a pre match beer or two to get them through the turnstiles. _________________ Only on fan talk can supporters find a negative in a 5-0 win. 🤔 |

If we get a good few extra hundred in the South Stand as per usual we usually shoot ourselves in the foot. Just for once please don't let this happen. |
