No i don't think it has been explained what the 200 Club is and i'm not being argumentative or provocative when i ask what exactly is the 200 Club? I'm not disputing that they do alot of good for the Rovers but is it essentially just a drinking club? As it stands just now would i have to be a member of the 200 club to drink in the lounge before or after a match?

Not enough people use the 200 club just now, you are lucky if 30-40 punters are using it at the moment and at the most buying a couple of pints so if you do the sums the club makes very little profit, some people might drink more but most only buy 1 drink. for me all the supporters groups should be one organisation and work together that way we can maximise the facilities more than we do now.

Another punter who knows everything about the 200 club and nothing.
So you tell me how much the bar its self makes on a saturday or are you one of the 15 who are using it before AND after the game, i bet 90% of the people using it spend less than £5 on a saturday never mind midweek.

Also as i have said before it would be better if all the supporters groups hsd 1 place to go to rather than the 200 club the Jim Mcmillan club, stix and anywhere else or is that to simple, to many organisations for one club. they need to forget about all there own little oh Ive done my bit and pull the same way because there is very little interaction between all the clubs as far as I can see.

I think if you ever go to the 200 club on match days you will find there is more than 15 go before and after the games.I think some of the committee or members should explain to you but i am sure its been mentioned on this topic if you were to look.

yes you are right but not all of them are there before and after the game, not petty as we are talking about how viable it is in its present form and as regarding a statement you made previously nobody has ever said the 200 club are getting kicked out of starks park as confirmed by people that was at the meeting to speak about the restructuring of the club about a month ago

Thats maybe so but the club are thinking about kicking them out of the raith suite.I wouldnt know how viable it is because i only go for a pint so you would need to speak to those involved to suss that out.The comment about 1 place to go for the groups is one of the reason why the englishman and myself looked into getting a top class portacabin. Some of the groups are members of the official fans forum whereas my lot are unofficial.

Castle, the 200 club was set up in the late sixties, basically as a social club and meeting place within RRFC, basically it was run along the same lines as other clubs of the time, ex-servicemans, british legion, KUSI etc, the difference being that any money made by the 200 club constitutionally goes to Raith Rovers, obviously over the years as the clubs have declined so have the profits of the 200 club but they still fundraise for the Rovers and are currently providing £5-6K annually to their coffers.
The club actually held the drinks licence for the area under the main stand, now half hospitality and half 200 club, which was revoked when we were turfed out the first time (I'm not sure what sort of licence the Rovers have now), I know Dennis O'Connell runs the bar and catering facilities at the 200club/catering, I assume he pays the Rovers and then pockets the profits, but the board would have to clarify that.
From my point of view it's good to have a bar inside the ground, which is not exclusively for the 200 club, non members pay £3 to go in and have a drink, again that money goes to the Rovers, the 200 club were promised not to be thrown out again, it has happened twice, by members of this current board (silence is deafening), I also understand that the Rovers have to maximise their profits (perhaps a look at the catering contract would be more beneficial), and although it will be of little interest to some people, the way the 200 club is being treated is shabby to say the least.

Some one mentioned why all the supporters groups and they should be one?
Nah, no chance all the groups do great work fundraising and of course enjoying themselves, long may they continue and thanks goodness they all exist.

A plan: we design and build the place ourselves somewhere in the ground. There are enough fans with a host of expertise and skills that surely we could build the purpose built bar/meeting place etc.?

The fans groups could contribute towards the materials and other costs involved. The club might suffer meanwhile but as they really couldn't give a sod about the 200 club members and fans who use the place, then so be it. The funds will flow eventually into the RRFC kitty.
