I know a few people have mentioned using a temporary building as a bar/ function space. I suppose the big question with doing something like this is whether or not it would be used.

Looking on-line you can see a vast range of temporary, or 'semi-permanent' buildings that could do a job in the space next to the main stand. You can get some nice ones too (clicky).

Using a nicer structure would also open up the club to hosting more meetings/ functions.

There is obviously questions regarding funding, however, there are a number of options reducing costs.... such as free advertising or a profit share deal. At a long shot, I am sure the steel that makes up the railway stand would be worth something too Confused

P.S. This is a hypothetical question/ discussion!

A dedicated RRFC supporters bar could end up shooting the club in the foot by taking business away from the club's sponsors.

Strike up a deal with the sponsors. Try to get in young adults, stamp on the wrist before the game/after the game and you can get into Kitties at a discount at night?

To take away the 200 club the spiritual home for decades for fans wanting a beer and craic without replacing it is a scandal.

Especially daft when the hospitality hasn't even been selling out Rolling Eyes .

By all means lets have a great hospitality place but every club needs a bar for home and away supporters. Who on earth would shoot down the bread & butter financial support of a bar ?????? (only at the RRFC)

This is not an argument or provocation. I just want to get my mind right on this. Was it not the case that the 200 Club use to occupy upstairs in the Fourways? Might just be my mind playing tricks on me.

that was after the club threw us out after gaining promotion to the SPL, successive Boards have done this action in similar circumstances in recent times only to eventually invite us back when their "corporate plans" fell by the wayside, we were told on the last occasion that the Club invited us back that we would never be turfed out again, however, this was a gentlemans agreement and was never put down in writing, which has come back to bite us Sad

Wasn't there plans drawn up for a bar/social club to be built within the South Stand??

That was conditional, it was only going to happen if we won promotion last season.

It should be remembered that this gentlemen's agreement was made by a board that had 3No members of the current board on it, gentlemen, not in my eyes.

I take it the temporary bar/hospitality for the Railway Stand that was being talked up by the board at the open meeting has been knocked on the head?

They would tell you anything to your face at an open meeting, but behind closed doors is a different kettle of fish for these guys.

A temporary is no good to anyone as people need to know whats available every season plus all the good people in the 200 club need to know whats happening to them.

Ever had a look at the great facilities at East End Park?

San Starko is a poor poor third class venue.

No use bleating about the way the old stand has been built, the club built two huge stands with little thought about areas for functions, education, players rooms and a fans bar for example.
