Question is,if we were fortunate to win the play offs how many players are capable of handling the step up |
That's the key point, Vinnie. Personally, I'd see Matthews as a great squad player/option in a Premier survival battle or a Championship promotion push. Easton less so 8n Premier, but equally in Championship |

I mean, would it be a surprise if at some point a conversation was had between Murray and Matthews with the gaffer saying something along the lines of….”Get some games, prove your fitness and we will talk contracts at end of season”?
I want Matthews to stay like most but you can’t blame Murray for being cautious with a player who has hardly played in the two years he’s been here!
Since Murray arrived we have played 70 league games, Matthews has started 6 of them all of which in the last 7 weeks! |

In FFP, IM says contract talks for all out- of - contract players on hold until we know what league we are in and even Rossco isn't certain to be with us next season. Some (perhaps ? )reassuring words about Rossco, but nothing is certain. |

It's a tricky one for me, not been involved for such a long time and was he a stand out when he returned, I think not, so it's a case of head or heart. Unfortunately football business is all head over heart. Can he give us something we don't have going forward, not so sure. If you are a tech driven manager you might want to look at his stats and how much he can improve. If you are a performance driven manager you would have to have questions about his future.
Still 50/50 for me, total redemption of course would be outstanding performances in the playoffs culminating with him scoring the goal that takes us up, unfortunately heart usually loses in these cases. _________________ http://www.helpforheroes.org.uk/ |
