Reading the FFP headlines it reads to me that it's fairly obvious that Ian Murray doesn't see Ross as being a key player no matter what league we end up in. He'd have been offered terms by now if he was, similarly to Lewis and Sam.
Methinks, John and Smudger will likely be all over Ross to sign him at the first available chance. _________________ Talk on! Talk on!

They are indeed. I just had hoped that the management team had also seen the benefit of extending Ross's contract in a similar manner. _________________ Talk on! Talk on!

I don't think IM wrote the Rossco article or headline in the Kirkcaldy edition of this week's FFP. Hopefully, he was too busy in his dayjob of plotting the defeat of ICT tomorrow!
However, previous posts by me on subject of Ross Matthews this season show I had severe doubts that IM rated him. Latterly, I had hoped that IM now sees his quality and value since Rossco started playing for him regularly.
He couldn't have been extended at the same time as Sam or Vaughany as he was effectively still recovering from injury at those points. Therefore, I hold some residual hope, but that depends on whom IM and Potts have in mind to freshen up the squad and, also, I don't see both Rossco and Shaun Byrne being signed . I'd love to see Rossco in our squad next season.
Not sure that Rossco is overfond of Falkirk or that Falkirk fans would welcome him after his Falkerk Tears meme. Hopefully, he won't have to make that choice.

Sorry Embow, misread your post. Agreed that Falkirk would be interested with Ross but hopefully he is offered a new deal as the grass is not always greener elsewhere as Ethan Ross has found out, he may have got a league 1 winners medal but I dont think he featured all that much at Falkirk |

Ross’ return to fitness has given Murray a decision for sure.
Fully fit again with a pre season behind him would make Matthews a huge asset, especially if we stay in this division.
Either way, even if he sets sail for pastures new, I’m just glad he has put the injury nightmare behind him. Over 10 years at the club now too! Would certainly be a sad day if he left |

If he does leave, and I hope he doesn't, what happens to his Testimonial?
These events usually take place over a whole season? |

I'd be gutted if Rossco is allowed to leave. His attitude, commitment, loyalty and skill set are assets which would be very difficult to replicate. |

Unless he's asking for a wage that is unreasonable I don't see why we wouldn't be looking to sign him up. At championship level he's is a very capable defensive midfielder who is entering his prime years so why wouldn't you want that type of player in your squad. Even if we were promoted I'd still have him in the squad to be honest. _________________ Fantalk~Often wrong but never in doubt |

It’s funny how some people are happy to accept IM’s judgement that Corr isn’t a good choice to select for the team, but feel they know better with Matthews. This is NOT accusing any of the previous posters of this, but it is asking if, big picture, the judgement isn’t IM’s and Potter’s?
Personally, I believe Matthews should be re-signed, however it would be wasteful if IM isn’t going to play him, as he’s surely a top level earner on the team. The unfortunate reality is modern football isn’t sentimental, and Matthews is coming back off nearly two years of recovery. I’m pretty confident that there might be concerns about his durability…much like I expect Watson not to be retained, despite almost never putting a foot wrong while playing, due to his age and injury concerns. |

Perhaps the posters advocating the retention of Matthews are speaking with the benefit of experience of having seen him play (unlike Corr). Ross Matthews has over the years given a good many excellent performances and although some were openly questioning his value and fitness earlier in the season there seems to be plenty of support for him now.
Personally I would place Matthews ahead of Easton in the "get him signed up" stakes.
IF the board don't offer Matthews a decent contract then they are there to be shot at.
Some of the signings we've made have been questionable, Mullin on a 3 year deal? bringing in Turner and Rudden at a time when we desperately needed defensive options. _________________ Competitive goals: Vaughan 18, Easton 11, Hamilton 10, Smith 9, Stanton 7, Mullin 4, Connolly 3, O'Reilly 3, Rudden 3, S Brown 1, Dick 1, Gullan 1, Masson 1, Millen 1, Mitchell 1, Murray, Watson 1, OG's 1, |

But that’s the point, Scotty. If we had X player but the managers scheme doesn’t have the role for him, what’s the point? I’m simply saying our eyes can lie to us is what people say about Corr…why wouldn’t the same apply to Rosco? |

Surely if IM is considering re-signing Dylan Corr ( and I'd leave that judgement to IM and Potts) , negotiations to extend Rossco's contract must be well advanced? I appreciate that he may be more expensive but he's the unsigned up one I'd most like to secure. ( Dylan Easton too, but I think that he's bound elsewhere ,whereas Rossco is one of our own). |

I think IM will be waiting to see which league we are playing in next season before tying down players or releasing them
Question is,if we were fortunate to win the play offs how many players are capable of handling the step up _________________ THERES FIVE OF ME |
