Mullin and Easton in for Smith and Vaughan.
Quite happy with that after last week.
The team looks like it has a bit more width and balance.

The playing strength of the guys on the bench is something to behold.
Strong starting line up as well.
I live in hope 🤞

Stanton so unlucky not to open the scoring. However, I think Airdrie will have had most of the possession in this first half?

Baws!😠
Ah well! Maybe we're not the free flowing scoring machine some of us thought.
Just need to try to pick up the pieces and move on quickly to next week.
Even worse now as Utd score right at the death 😠

Surprise, surprise,a chance for us to stretch our lead at the top and give ourselves a bit more breathing space and we blew it

(Edited due to being unaware the Arabs had scored late on)

Wasn,t at the game but have watched the goal back, poor, poor defending

Next three league games, away to Ayr,at home to DU and away to Arbroath and the clocks still to go back Laughing

Apart from a short spell before halftime we never threatened to score. I mean Airdrie seldom offered much either but whereas with our league games this season which has seen us get away with average performances today we got what we deserved.
Although we play with two sitting defensive midfielders I've felt all season that opposition are able to break past the midfield and threaten our centre halves and that's what happened for their goal (I think). Masson got pulled out of position trying to win the ball but nobody filled the hole behind him.
I doubt this will be a popular opinion but I'm really not a fan of the Stanton/ Hamilton pairing up front. I don't think it plays to either players strengths.
Was today just a blip or a sign of things to come. We'll find out next week down at Ayr but I fear it may be the latter.

Just back from Airdrie and perhaps should take longer to reflect on the game, but managers get far less time.
The signs were there last week that , despite our great start, we are not functioning fluently.
Jack Hamilton again won his fair share of headers. But he's so isolated! In the second half, especially, he showed ,in bursts, that he can be dangerous but he needs support.
Brown and Bryne play well together but I would try Stanton in Bryne's position with
either LV or Easton off Hamilton or even make it a two up front, with Gullan or Smith alongside Jack. More forward momentum and more for the opposition to worry about!
In truth, neither side deserved to win but they took their chance, whereas Sam Stanton's long range chip (which I , my son and others around thought was going in) just veered away and struck the wrong part of the post.😕
I hope that Keith Watson and Jack Hamilton will recover from their injuries rapidly.

Wasn't much in the game, and don't think we deserved to lose. Typical Championship game that could have went either way, just didn't fall for us this time. One of those things. If that game finished 0-0 or even 1-0 Rovers it would still have been a fair ish reflection.

I do think Murray needs to figure out his preferred starting 11 pretty quickly and give it a chance to settle. As much as I agreed with the changes he made before the game, it became pretty apparent that things were a bit disjointed up top - another game that took us a while to get going. The depth we have in attacking areas is great, but I do have a concern that it makes things too tempting to tweak week in and week out.

I am also concerned that for all the depth we have in attack, one I juey leaves us very exposed at the back. Masson is young and has potential I'm sure, but Watson was a big loss - I don't think we concede that goal if he's on the park.

I do think our position going into the game was a bit misleading, 13 put of 15 points was more than we really deserved in my view,so hopefully this result can serve as a bit of a reset.

13 of 15 points versus 4, 5, 7, 9 and 10 on the current table…lost a close game to number 6…yet to play 1, 3 and 8. That’s 7th is the average team we’d played, and (almost) 4th we had yet to play. Very misleading.

Murray's continual tinkering with things isn't improving things, if anything it appears to be slowly taking us backwards. He seems to be absolutely wedded to playing one up top which is pointless when nobody is being played close enough to benefit from Hamilton's knock downs. I'd back JH to win his fair share and more against most center halves, but having nobody near him means he's having to try to keep the ball (or at least take 2 touches), this makes it easy for teams to put 2 defenders on him.

I had an interesting chat with an Airdrie fan in Cyprus a few weeks ago, he liked Murray but reckons McCabe is by far the better manager as he's pro-active as opposed to Murray who is more re-active.

Ian Murray talks the talk about having the bodies and being able to play different personnel and formations, I think we've seen a good bit of tinkering personnel wise but not enough formation wise.
