The club can today announce that defender Dylan Corr has signed a 1 year pre – contract with Raith Rovers, and will complete the move upon completion of his contract with Celtic.
A 19 year old centre back, Dylan was first signed by Celtic as a 7 year old, and has worked his way through the age groups of the Celtic academy, playing for the Youth, Under 18 and ‘B’ teams since signing as a professional.
In the 2022-23 season Dylan made 34 appearances for the Celtic ‘B’ team in the Scottish Lowland Football League (where he became acclimatised to playing men’s football), the SPFL Challenge Cup and the UEFA Youth League (testing himself against Elite Youth footballers from the top leagues in Europe in games v Real Madrid, Shakhtar and Red Bull Leipzig, playing the full 90+ minutes in each match in that competition).
Rovers manager Ian Murray has been monitoring Dylan’s progress throughout the past season, and is delighted that Rovers got ahead of several full-time clubs (who were also keen on the player) in securing the services of the young defender.
The Rovers manager spoke exclusively to www.raithrovers.net about Dylan and said:
“I’m really glad Dylan has agreed to sign on with us.
He is a good young centre – half who we have been discussing for some time.
Dylan has come from a good grounding in football, and we look forward to working with him and progressing his career” _________________ THERES FIVE OF ME |

Not wanting to get over excited simply because it is only a one year deal.
Hopefully if all goes well that the club can convince him to sign a longer contract.
Also, should he move UPWARDS......I guess Celtic will be the financial benefactors.
All that said, WELCOME, come make a name for yourself. _________________ Born a Rover Live a Rover Die a Rover |

Welcome to Rovers Dylan.
Definitely fits the bill of younger hungrier and coming out of the best youth system in the country. Hopefully he’s as good as the last lad that came from there to here! _________________ RIP RONNIE |

Trusting that IM and Mickey have done their research and reckon Dylan can do a job in the Championship, although it seems a big step up. Not really a parallel with O' Riordan because injuries at his parent club had already thrown him in at the deep end ( and he prospered ). However, if Dylan's good enough , he's old enough. All the best to him!
Incidentally, the official Raith announcement refers to a PCA and Dylan signing once his Celtic contract ends. It doesn't state that Celtic have already told him that he is not being offered a new contract, although this must be the case as, otherwise ,there would be a development fee due. Anyone seen this stated in print? ( as I'm assuming Raith would not be paying a development fee - and leading on from that, if we offer him an extension on his one year contract but he goes elsewhere , do we get some development fee, on account of his age then?) |

I can’t find a release from Celtic confirming he wasn’t offered a contract, but both the Courier and Glasgow Live confirm multiple clubs chasing him with a contract that expires at the end of May, 2023. Wonder if he’ll stick with number 91?😂 |

Cor blimey!
I'd forgotten about the Corrs.
Did a quick search and amazingly they are now parents of teenagers!😲
Good to see they are back performing again.

Wonder when IM will give this lad a chance - the Bibs game being his last game. Not a great example but part of a losing defence.
My main point here is that if we do progress and play Ross county in the final - Watson and Murray may be unavailable - injured or suspended - speculating. Maybe as we now have secured second place playing Corr would be insurance and allow us to keep Brown in midfield. Watching RC just now - they will be tough if we get that far. _________________ Here Wee go again |

Corr must be poor in training. How many players have played out of position rather than him, Brown, Matthews, Millen and Dick I make it. |

Murray has not been very fair with his handling if Corr, and has probably put the lads development back quite a bit
If Corr was / is deemed not good enough he should've been sent out on loan instead of wasting away on the bench making up numbers.
What young players will want to come to the Rovers if that's how they're treated |
