I think Lewie's contract will have time-lapsed by the time he is fit to play again, but my guess is that both club and player would both be up for a new one. |
I think his current contract takes him through to the end of next season. |

It's on the official site that he's under contract until May 2021. |

Requires 2 ops with a 3 month wait in between them. By the time he’s fit he’ll be out of contract. Will be interesting if the club take the risk of offering him a new deal. |

Just awful, awful news but J Mc G says Lewis will remain strong. He'll be back, better than ever, never fear.
Many fans have been and are supporting him in various ways.
One (small) idea is based on the fact that Lewis has continued to appear at home games.
So, ten (10) minutes into the next home game (against Stranraer)the Rovers support break into a chant of ''There's only one Lewis Vaughan''.
If this idea is thought to have legs:-
1)Is there enough time ,by next Saturday, to spread the word so that both home stands are on board?
2) Particularly the lads at the back to lead the singing?
3) The team would have to be alerted so they don't take it as a negative on their own performance!
4) It was confirmed that Lewis was there!
Any positive variations/improvements are welcome.
Finally,if you think its a bad idea ,present better ideas to show your support for this guy who has entertained and delighted us with his quick feet and enviable skills since a teenager. |

as excellent a player he is for us (when fit) how long does the club continue to pay his wages/medical costs.insurance premiums etc? Its a tough decision whether to keep him or not based on his horrendous luck with injuries. |

I don't think it's bad luck, more like his body can't handle professional football. Spending 3 years in total injured at such a young age shows that. |

Great news from J McG in FFP. Lewis had an operation and doesn't require a second one, due to obtaining second opinion from a different surgeon. Instead of January 2021 J McG believes that he will be back playing in August or September 2020.
J McG says he will be given a whole nine months to be fully recovered and,if necessary, will be held back from playing again too soon.
Not only all Rovers supporters but also any fans who appreciate a talented player will be delighted that Lewis has this positive news. |

Lets hope this 2nd opinion is reliable, otherwise we may see the same occurring. I really hope not |

Just hope nobody, himself included, rush him back. Give him an extra two or three months on top to build up gradually.
Be thrilled for Lewis and RRFC in general if he can come through this and return to full fitness
*And let’s hope the 2nd opinion wasn’t from Marvin Andrews |

Following on my earlier posts and the subsequent comments here is an excerpt from Fife Today:
“We were originally told he would need two operations but we sought a second opinion and decided to go down another route,” McGlynn said.
“The second surgeon was very confident he could do it in one operation and quicker than other surgeon so it was a no-brainer for us to get it done.
“It was a success by all accounts and that’s him on the road to start coming back.
[Just in case confusion re the need for one or two ops. This says it was all done in one op] |

There was a news post on the club site about training commencing, showing a photo of him in training, so I guess it must be a case of "so far, so good". |

I think J McG intimated that LV would be ready for selection when the action starts. September /October was the timeframe spoken about after the second opinion was sought, I'm sure initially the 1st surgeon reckoned November. _________________ Competitive goals: Vaughan 18, Easton 11, Hamilton 10, Smith 9, Stanton 7, Mullin 4, Connolly 3, O'Reilly 3, Rudden 3, S Brown 1, Dick 1, Gullan 1, Masson 1, Millen 1, Mitchell 1, Murray, Watson 1, OG's 1, |

After the second surgery the timeline estimate was August for return to practice. |
