Ok folks, I'm going to take responsibility for starting this one.
Firstly, thank you Willie Kirk for your sterling efforts in previous fixtures.
Secondly, I think that this could be the game that sees us back in the mix with United. I don't think for one moment that we'll be title winners but we need to get back to some form to cement second place, if for no other reason than the monetary gains. No better game than this one to put the wheels back on the track.

Basically, in terms of winning the title, they can afford to lose this game, we can’t which places most of the pressure on ourselves.

While we have been struggling and losing games the last few weeks, Utd haven’t been setting the heather alight either…drawing with Pars, losing to Morton, unconvincing wins v Ayr and ICT.

This doesn’t change the fact that we need a dramatic upturn in performance based on the last few games! It CAN happen…will it happen? Let’s wait and see

Massively pivotal game, with pressure on both sides. Lose and United will be out of sight for the foreseeable and Partick would then become our biggest rivals, with holding onto second-top being our target. Win and the last few games will be all but forgotten, for at least a week and as long as the good results continue. Given the recent slump, I guess a draw would still be more than acceptable in this game, albeit not much use to us in the long-run.

It is massive too, in that IM now pledges to take a look at himself, the tactics and the squad. With the time off that they have to regroup, we go into this game as an unknown factor - be that bad or good.

A couple of bounce games before this might be the answer, to at least try out new combinations.

New faces - in the right places - by the United game?

In less than two weeks, we face Dundee United with a chance to close the gap at the top of the table to just one point.

With almost 5,500 tickets already sold, we are now just 1,453 seats away from our highest ever home league attendance.

This is a huge chance to fill Stark's Park and get behind the team while breaking another record this season.

With fourteen huge games ahead of us and all still to play for, your support is crucial.

Have you got your ticket for next Friday night yet?

BUY TICKETS FOR DUNDEE UNITED MATCH

ℹ️ An update:

Yesterday, we sent out a survey to season ticket holders asking their opinion on allocating the SM Lighting Stand to Dundee United fans for our upcoming match.

We can now confirm that 93% of supporters have voted yes to Dundee United fans receiving this extra allocation.

As of today, over 2,700 away tickets have been sold and it's looking very likely that the full Craiglea Timber Frames Stand will be sold out in the next few days.

We anticipate Dundee United to then sell out the extra allocation, which will bring us in an extra ÂŁ8,500 in revenue.

Thank you to everyone who took part in our survey.

Have to agree with Neil M, it certainly will be pivotal for both sides. It would be great if our lads turn up for this one and put a big 3 point dent in the Arabs promotion aspirations but, and more importantly, they start playing with belief, desire and confidence again and don't allow themselves to get bullied again.
If IM keeps it simple, plays to the players strengths we can do well. It would also be great if everyone puts pressure on IM, perhaps in the second half, to get Rosco on the pitch by chanting his name, especially if, God forbid, we are losing!

It's good news that there's going to be a large crowd despite being on tv. However, the form we're in i can't see anything except an away win unless Stanton plays and inspires others around him. The defence has been honking all season, although nobody has bothered as we were scoring one more than our opponents until last month.

The manager seems incapable of organizing a team, making us hard to beat and not playing Matthews when we're getting bullied in midfield is beyond belief. The confidence is low and i just can't see anything positive coming from this fixture.

I don't think we are a one man team. What I mean is that even with Stanton in the team, I don't think he can win the game by himself. We are low on confidence but we are not a bad team over night.

Not having a game this weekend I think is good thing, chance to get everyone pulling in the right direction and more fitness into Watson and hopefully Stanton.

Watching Utd, I don't think they are great shakes and I don't think defeat for us is a forgone conclusion either. I can see us being really fired up, just need full concentration and eliminate errors.

If the unthinkable happens, 6 defeats in a row, is that on par with Anelka only?

Sure Grant Murray guided us to some impressive losing streaks

*After a bit of investigation, he never had a 6 but he did lose his last 5 league games in charge including a 4-0 reverse at home to 9th place Livi and a 3-1 home defeat to 10th and already relegated Cowdenbeath

To a hat-trick from Colin Nish of all people.

A home win by more than one goal and Tony Watt to be red carded for being a prick!

It wasn't that long ago that the Rovers ruled the Shed.

According to an interview I saw on the tele (after the ICT game) apparently he's bought some chickens (about half a dozen) and keeps them in a run in his garden.

Found this online from a newspaper .....

Watt convinced his wife to let him buy a chicken coop for their back garden and has since acquired four chickens.

His social media has been full of declarations of love for the egg-laying birds.

And he reckons they bring calm and discipline to his life off the park which is fuelling good displays on it.
