Unfortunately, Dunfermline already have a league game scheduled for next Saturday.

Need to get back to basics, if that means 4-4-2, pass and move stuff then so be it, first thing is making us hard to beat and that isn't happening.

Feel no better today than coming home last night.
We don't seem to have control in the middle of the park. I thought returning Scott Brown to his natural position might mean that we got a grip, but more is needed than that. Turner showed some good touches in the first half but didn't seem to connect with his teammates most of the time.
The drive of Stanton is desperately needed but, in the last few games surely Ross Matthews was the player best equipped to play in his position? On the other channel there is a rumour or two of a fallout between Rossco and IM. Difficult to think of a more logical reason.
Lots of hard work on the training pitch needed before the United clash.
BTW the Singing Section was well outsung by the Airdrie support ,who, admittedly had more to be cheerful about .

I feel this is all getting blown out of proportion slightly (only slightly)

I believe these recent performances fall at the feet of our manager with his more than questionable team selections and tactics.

The confidence and belief we carried up until only a few weeks ago looks shot. Has the addition of Turner and Rudden (neither have impressed thus far) and the managers insistence on getting them straight in the starting eleven rocked the boat within the squad?

Last night, it was clear that Airdrie were controlling the middle of the park from early on yet we kept Byrne and Matthews on the bench. The awful tactics of punting long ball after long ball was infuriating but it screamed of a team lacking guidance, lacking cohesion and obviously lacking confidence.

The constant chopping and changing of personnel week to week can’t help the fluidity on the park while it’s a fine line between having a load of options going forward and having unhappy players barely getting two games on the trot before being benched.

The positives here are that we can now concentrate on the league, we have Stanton returning soon, our CB’s could probably do with a couple of weeks before next competitive game.

Murray is an intelligent person, he has played the game at a very high level, he has played under some top managers. He isn’t blind and isn’t stupid, he is watching the same thing we are so I think he more than deserves the chance to sort this out…

Remember, unlikely as it seems on this performance, it only takes one or two wins and we are right bang in the middle of a title challenge again! And, even if that ship sails… returning to the boil at the right time going in to the play offs could still see this season end in glory!

I agree that all it takes is a win against Utd or a draw and then a win away against Ayr and suddenly the direction of our campaign will flip back 180 again. We've all seen enough football to know that it's not beyond the realm of possibility that we could win our next two games (in fact it wouldn't be massive shock) but the likelihood is that we will actually lose our next two games and then we will be worrying about the clubs below us and not at any above us.
The problem is, as we've all known, is that some incredibly freak results have covered up for some pretty unconvincing performances. So now that our luck has ran out result wise what are we left with? Well what we are left with is somehow still a great chance to win the league yet I don't think there is a single Rovers fan who actually believes we will be able to take this opportunity.

Once again the apprentice has outdone the "master", we played last nights game like they had all just met for the first time, it all gone pear shaped the only saving grace now were still in contention for at least the play offs, financially for next season that is a must or the crowds will start to dwindle, not just damaging season ticket sales but the knock on effect of pie sales and other revenue streams that the board have worked so hard to achieve

How successful was the singing section? All I could hear all night was the Airdrie fans who were in fine voice. Their fans and team were excellent. Hopefully they go on the win the trophy.

I say arrange a bounce game against East Fife for next week, that should give our confidence a wee lift........and if we can't beat that gang Murray should definitely be sacked.

The only SPFL teams free next weekend apart from ourselves are Arbroath, Dundee United, Falkirk and Peterhead.

I'd get them on the pitch, 11 guys, tell they are starting next match and 11 guys tell them they are not staring unless...... same formation both sides and have at it. See who wants it, who is capable of playing in their given position, full on blood and thunder for 90 minutes, no mates just the other side, take the knocks and niggles but learn from it, get the best players in their best positions. He can tinker with one side, Micky can tinker with the other side.
No excuses, careers on the line and get it done, let's see what they are really made of. And mostly, keep it simple.

RZ, just when I was hoping we might go into the United match with no injuries within the squad Laughing Laughing
After these two teams of yours have finished knocking seven bells out of each other IM might have to field the eleven players still standing!

RZ - every season used to have this scenario before it started properly - the possibles v the probables, the blues against the whites(or reds), team A v team B.
While it was not as full on as some proper matches, it was often fairly committed with players playing for a place, or to hang on to their place etc.
They were billed as Trial Matches and the terracing banter could be good too. Lovely summers day, two teams going at it, and a voice from the terraces ‘Falconer, this is a trial match, and you’re f….n guilty!’ to great mirth round about. Poor George Falconer, that day - a decent player for the Rovers, but not at his best that afternoon.
Ahh, and they say nostalgia is a thing of the past!
