A lot of folks saying that this comes at the right time. We'll see. At the time we drew them, I thought it was a winnable game. It still is, but after losing at home to the bottom two teams, I'm not so sure. It would be nice to be in the next round - for the money, for the confidence and for the new army of young fans. Maybe a new defender (or two) in place by Saturday? Maybe an older head to command that shaky back line (or back two) and watch out for dangerous gaps appearing. It would free Brown up to play midfield with maybe Matthews back too.

Shudder to think what would have happened if Easton had been sent off v QP. Give him a rest. Give Connelly a chance to show what he can do.

Watson's status seems to be a deepening mystery. Question for the pre match interview maybe? Wink

Livingston's recent record is W0 D2 L11, despite this they aren't getting trounced by good teams.

Murray said in his BBC post match interview that Watson, Murray and big Kev would all be back in full training from today. He made no mention of Matthews though.

I wish we had a RB so we could sit Millen, and I’m willing to play Masson there so we can. We should start Corr and McNeil. Matthews should play at least 30 minutes, if available. Easton and Vaughan should be used from the bench.

I wouldn’t be playing a weaker side. We could potentially win this tie, progress, generate more income and get the feel good factor moving again. Hopefully we have a new centre half (or two) by Saturday.

The way we were playing at the time of the Livingston draw, led me to believe these guys were going to be there for the taking. Recent performances however had somewhat reduced that initial burst of confidence making me a bit more worried about our forthcoming encounter. Now, had I posted this message immediately after Saturday's game, it would indeed be a doom and gloom prediction. The frustration of having watched 90 minutes of missed chances and wayward passes on Raith TV live was still pulsating through my veins leading me to doubt our team both on and off the park alike. I am so glad I stuck to my self discipline of not posting on match day.

I watched the highlights, listened to IM''s post match and completely changed my mind. It is far too easy to get caught up in the emotion of a defeat aftermath. Far better to calmly watch the replay, where granted I still saw some wayward passes, but I took a slightly different view to the missed chances.

Ferrie had an outstanding goalkeeping performance where he stopped at least four certain goals, and Jamie Gullan rattled the bar with a very late free kick. Had one or more of these converted into a goal we were looking at points. Yes. I know if my Granny had a different XY make up she would be my Granddad, but we were actually so,so close on Saturday.

So looking at things in a different perspective from that of the defeat, I really think we can take this Livingston side whom are obviously expected to beat us lowly Championship dawdlers? Aye right!

If we play our game the way we can, then no matter who is picked from the available squad we ought to be able to beat this struggling team from the top division. I do agree with some though. We really should rest Easton from the starting line up. The lad has been off the boil in comparison to his own very high standards since Dundee United. It may do him some good?

I'm looking forward to a Rovers victory on Saturday which will do the team, and us fans some good also.

Livi seem to have an abundance of physical strikers ( also with aerial threat) , Nouble, Yengi and Guthrie, so IM must be tempted to field Keith Watson on Saturday ,even if he needs to be taken off after an hour.
They also have Bruce Anderson ,a very different type of striker ( and one who ,allegedly, has signed a PCA with Killie). Always liked him since he scored a 30 yarder for Aberdeen B team in a cup match at SP ,the only bright point for the Bs on a day they were well beaten by The Rovers.
Yes, we have a chance at the weekend, but we have to turn up , keeper, defence, midfield and strikers in good form ,and battle the whole game, if we are to win.
Anyone know the projected size of the home support?

Franco, we will outnumber the home fans I’m sure, most do!

* For comparison, a wee bit of research shows their home 5th round game v ICT last season had an attendance of 1,284 with under 1,000 home fans.
