With that makeshift defence and others out injured, that point is as good as a win, pity Connolly only got a few minutes though

The Rovers were superb in the first half, considering the conditions. Constant harrying, which led to United mistakes and ,once in possession, we played good football on the deck.
Deserved to be ahead at HT and LV deserved his goal.
It seemed inevitable that Jim Goodwin would have them fired up for the second half, but, in the main, we handled the pressure well. Heart sank when Moult was announced as coming on and, right enough, he scored.
But we still carried a threat and I'm disappointed that we didn't sneak a winner. However, United and their supporters will now know that winning the league won't be a simple matter.
We, in turn, need to play every week with the intensity we showed today. It's just my opinion, but we look more of a close knit team in the formation of the last two weeks. No part of the team is isolated from other parts. But how you achieve that when Watson is fit is for the manager to decide ( e.g. how could either Brown or Bryne be left out on present form, but the team overall benefits from a more attacking formation ).
Good to see Aidan back ,though he will see that he'll have to fight for a starting place!
Some cracking saves by Kev, yet again. I've really warmed to him.

It was an entertaining game, so ,hopefully, some of the non-regulars will have seen enough to want to return!

Thought a draw was a fair result today. We were the better team in the first half and deserved to go in ahead at half time with United the better in the second half.
A few good performances from Rovers today, Dylan Easton outstanding once again and a fantastic performance from big Kevin in goals. Either of them was my man of the match.

I wonder how much affect the poor bookings made on our entire midfield by an atrocious referee had on our 2nd half performance as our boys couldn’t afford to make a tackle. The ref was very one sided and made a calamity of errors throughout the whole game, failing to book United players on several occasions for really bad fouls.

FairPlay to our players for the commitment and effort once again. A really good result whilst missing our centre half and centre forward and against 12men. Onwards and upwards!

Will start by saying I thought a draw was a very fair result.

Very niggly, stop start game at times in difficult conditions but plenty decent football on show too. Certainly felt like the referee leaned towards the away side when it came to the awarding of free kicks and he seemed less reluctant to dish the yellows out to the team in orange.

We had a handball shout at 1-1, one of those that I don’t necessarily think should be a penalty and would be fuming if the same was awarded against us but in this day and age, is often awarded.

Perhaps a bit harsh but could/should Big Kev have held the ball from the free kick that led to their equaliser from corner? Guess in the conditions the 1st instinct for him is just to keep it out the net, replay later will tell more..Either way, he made one or two cracking saves afterwards

Anyway, we showed we can more than compete with the ‘best’ in division and that was with many guys missing, we are still right up there…intensity levels were high, we need to keep them high even when we aren’t playing in front of a packed Stadium.

Great to see Connolly get a wee run out!

The First half was ours, I thought the team and the tactics were spot on. We grew up as a team.

Our passing play, attacking style was brilliant. Our defending was a lot better.
Lewis's goal was top drawer, never giving up.

Second half, we knew the Arabs would attack, BUT we defended poorly, keeping off the man and tackling was far too late. Murray sort this out. Our attacks were good but were a lot less made compared to the first half.

(Same throw in rubbish.)

The ref I thought had a pretty good first half but he was appalling in the second half. The Pratt Street side linesman had a howler, missing throw ins when the ball was clearly out.

I would have taken a draw before the game.

I thought it was a good entertaining game, both teams trying their best in difficult conditions.

Once we settled in the first half we really stated to play well and were worthy of our first half lead.

The second half United were on top as you would expect and big Kev made some really good saves, despite some of his distribution from kicking. We still created a few chances within the last 10 mins.

A draw was a fair result for both teams and i would of been happy with this before the game.

I thought Byrne and Easton were our better players but Scott Brown as a god, where ever he plays.

On a separate note, what was the Utd team bus all about? Why did the driver think it was not a health and safety issue blocking off the main exit for around 3000 fans leaving the ground?

Summaries above pretty much spot on. Our high intensity high press first half had United on the back foot for long spells and we deservedly went in ahead at half time. That cross from Mullen was just ridiculously sublime.

I did wonder if we would tire and Utd looked a different prospect second half.

Big Kev earned his wages today with two outstanding saves to earn us a point. Goodwin was on the pitch celebrating a goal at the second save right on full time.

A deserved point in a highly entertaining game.

A note to the ten year olds up the back of the South Stand whose voices have yet to break. Throwing half eaten pies, drinks cups and pop corn at fellow Rovers fans in front isn't clever. Hopefully they can p!ss off back to the Railway stand or even better dont bother coming to games. They add nothing and make my ears bleed.

Comments on a Utd forum about stewards telling fans to sit anywhere and not bothering about what end they were in. Seems to be a female steward didn’t care and caused some issues. Anyone see this?

No but I saw a bawbag steward stand halfway up an aisle, blocking several peoples views, he was told by another one to go up the back like they usually do which he done until half time….. Roll on 2nd half, same numpty decides to stand a good 7 or 8 steps down from top, obstructing even more peoples’ view til he moved on about 10mins later.

As far as stewarding goes at Starks Park, it was a dark day.

I will start by saying I would have taken a draw as a good result prior to a ball being kicked today.

I thought United looked ordinary in the first half, and maybe with the chances we had, we could have been farther ahead. However it pretty much changed in the second half with a higher press from United. It dramatically changed again when they brought on Moult. This is the first time I have watched him play, and wow did he impress me. This guy made a huge difference to the United team, and Jim Goodwin says he is only 60% fit? Thankfully for us he was not 100% fit!

Good performances from all over the pitch for us. Big Kev kept us in the game a couple of times, and I thought Brown had a much better game at centre back than last week. Really great to see Aiden Connolly back. Surely he must start against Montrose next week to help get him back to full match fitness? We really miss the right wing partnership he and Millen forged last year, and his ability to score from free kicks is second to none. If we also have Watson and Hamilton back, we will have a formidable unit. This of course will give IM an even bigger selection headache, which he says he quite enjoys.

not just "bawbag stewards" but also "bawbag fans" who shout obscenities at players at every game& continue to stand up thus blocking other fans view i see it mostly near the front stewards see it but say nothing ,very annoying & spoils what should be an enjoyable experience

I was afraid we were gonna get a hiding......thankfully I was off the mark.
Our keeper made a few good saves as indeed did theres.

Going by what others have said and by the highlights package, we gave as good as we got.
I dunno how good Dundee Utd’s overall squad is, what I do know is that we have a good squad. And we will no doubt need it. I put the fact that we have such a squad down to both IM and the new investment in the club.

I hope the players remain grounded.A lot of hard work ahead but I cannot think of a time in the last 15+ years when we have assembled such a talented group of players. And what’s more is they have age on their side.

Me a happy chappy the noo........and that’s fairly rare.😉

From the video, when Lewie celebrates his goal in front of the Arab fabs, a cup and something else was thrown at him?

Still smiling at our performance yesterday

I noticed that too Tam. I don’t think winding up the opposition fans is a clever thing to do imo. It can often backfire.
. Confused
