The gaffer (IM) frequently praises us the fans for our support in being the 12th man.
We proved it again tonight! Even with a half hearted change of allegiances to back the Pars, we've managed to transform them into some sort of Galactacos (or in Davie's case GalactaCodds).
Imagine where they could have been in the league if we supported them every week _________________ Competitive goals: Vaughan 16, Easton 11, Hamilton 9, Smith 7, Stanton 7, Mullin 4, Connolly 3, O'Reilly 3, Rudden 3, S Brown 1, Dick 1, Gullan 1, Masson 1, Millen 1, Mitchell 1, Murray, Watson 1, OG's 1, |

This result is only as good as it is if we win tomorrow.
No incentive needed.🤞 _________________ Talk on! Talk on!

Over the last couple of months if one team drops points then the other fails to take full advantage. Let's put a stop to this tomorrow. |

Quite simply advantage has to be taken hold of.
I'll admit my fear at half time and even to a lesser degree at t 3-0 was that United were going to mount a massive come back, ok it was unlikely but if they had managed to get something from the game it could have given them a massive lift going forward, thankfully they couldn't and hopefully the reverse is true and they will become utterly devoid of confidence in the coming weeks.
Now here's a thought, a wee draw or worse v ICT and they might be absolutely crapping it come our meeting at Tannadice. _________________ Competitive goals: Vaughan 16, Easton 11, Hamilton 9, Smith 7, Stanton 7, Mullin 4, Connolly 3, O'Reilly 3, Rudden 3, S Brown 1, Dick 1, Gullan 1, Masson 1, Millen 1, Mitchell 1, Murray, Watson 1, OG's 1, |

That huge GD could yet be the deciding factor. However, it's in our own hands now from here to the season's end after that result tonight. The door has been unlocked tonight. _________________ Talk on! Talk on!

It would be brutal if we were to look back at the end of the season and know that a win or even a draw at Gayfield would have got us automatic promotion. It would be awful if we came this far and finshed level on points with United, only to crash out in the play-offs and struggle next season. If we can win tomorrow, then the Pars might just have dug us out of that hole, with yet another Rovers comeback. Dundee United are not the great shakes that the Beeb mic-^%"*£rs make them out to be. They do and they will lose games. Look at our unbelieveably awful slump over December and January - and yet if we beat Queens Park tomorrow, we still go above them. What does that tell you? Sadly, when we had our winning streak, they were banging the goals in. When we were good, they were better and when we were bad, they were slightly less bad. Could you imagine if we even have as much as a clean-sheet most weeks now? Just saying!
The (mis)conception that we do not belong at the top of the league, we will never beat United over the season and we will fold - is well and truly old-hat. We are where we are on merit, not sheer luck, at this stage.
Now - hopefully IM has it drummed into them that Hampden will be just as hard and just as important as Tannadice!

Pars in the playoffs would be the nightmare scenario, if they won the only game that really mattered in the end. That should be enough to spur us on to win the league, starting tomorrow. |

It’s still in both our and DU’s hands…if either side wins out, they win the league, period. Once we’ve played the last head to head is when one side or the other really controls things. |

Still on the topic of nosh!tsherlockology - today will be a good indicator of whether IM and the team have learned lessons and moved on. We do damn well in big games against big clubs but less so against less fancied opposition, when we are the favourites. Today will be a barometer of whether or not that blind-spot has been overcome. |
