Total guesswork because of the unwillingness of Scottish Football authorities to offer any transparency on how they do any of this crap. Much like why on earth was Cowdenbeath invited? |

Uni students on their holibags in July - even the sports elite ones at Stirling - but still should have been a team from higher up the Lowland League than Cowdenbeath |

Possibly because Cowdenbeath were the last team to be relegated from the football league not already qualified. Makes little sense but all I can think of _________________ Championship Winners 2023-24 |

It's a tough group to win, so I hope the Board haven't budgeted for us getting to the knock out stages like the old Board did last season.
On the other hand, with the majority of our squad getting together on 12 June ( unlike last season's scramble), we draw with Killie, Dunfermline get a point off Killie at EEP, we beat the Pars at SP, no slipups against the minnows and we top the group. Easy as a chicken balti pie. |

Remember that bonus points are also on offer. Game finishes in a draw, straight to pens and winning team receives a further point. Unless its changed this year. |

Thanks, BP, that had slipped my mind. Recently we've been reasonably sound on penalties in shoot- outs, but can't say how well the other two are with that. Squads also change . Does Robbie come into the equation ? |

On paper, Killie away looks the toughest challenge, by far, but nobody will leave anything to chance in that game. For me, the Killie and Pars games will take care of themselves. The biggest banana-skin has to be Annan away in the last qualifying game. Anyone remember missing out on Rangers away, by a whisker last season after losing points to lower-league oppostion, or the tankings away to Cove two years in a row? You only have to look at the sheer form of Annan to see that IM has his work cut out to get rid of the "only Annan!" type of mindset. You have seen the consistent shocks that Queen's Park, Arbroath and Cove have pulled of in the last few seasons - not least against us. At least we have an advantage that Killie and the Pars will test themselves v Annan before we do. Let's leave the complacency to them! |

Just keep Ross Matthews off them. Was it not him who almost put it in the sea at New Bayview? |
