Absolutely nailed it SG.
We must attack as much as possible and take the chances that will come our way because given the defence we have we are likely to concede at least one.
As long as we score one more than them then it's job done. _________________ Talk on! Talk on!

I voted "Yes" for Bridie Exit! My head points out our poor record against them, but my heart tells me that somehow, we are going to come through this! I would take a win AET on penaties, but the tie settled in our favour before 5pm would be better for the old nerves!
If we keep the ball on the attack as much as we can, and don't give them time on the ball, who knows where that might end. They will be tired and as long as we don't just sit in or wait for them to score, we should be fine.
I was just thinking about it today - McKinnon, Locke, Hughes and B. Smith were all focused on their own careers and reputations. John McGlynn, for all the mistakes he may have made this season - has always (since his first time in charge) been a man who cared about the Rovers! I'll be there on Saturday.
COME ON YE RAITH! |

I agree with everything Neil M says. I defer to John and Smudger's superior knowledge in team matters, but, on behalf of a large no. of us travelling to Forfar tomorrow, might I ask respectfully that they might consider not giving a start to Buchanan and Barjonas? |

I always go to Forfar with huge expectation and come away angry and frustrated. The birdies really an over rated urban myth.
I don't think I've seen us win there. In the first game this season we played some of the best football away from home this season before completely capitulating after Henry went off injured. It became a battle and we crumbled.
Hopefully these guys have toughened up their act in recent weeks. I think McGlynn will play it safe again and be hard to break down. I'm not sure the cavalry charge as a means of overcoming a poor defence is the way to go.
I'll go for the draw or a narrow scrappy ugly win. |

McLaren's bakers in the town do genuinely world beating Bridies, it's just that Saddler's at the ground are a pale imitation.
Yeah, I don't think I've seen us win up there either. It's a balancing act: can't sit too deep as we'll definitely concede and quickly, can't play too open for the same reason.
Would start Gullen and Gillespie, might even drop Wedderburn if I thought we could put together a midfield of 3 willing runners which is what we'll need.
Really torn on what happens if they score: Would we crumble or - because we are so leaky you'd expect the players to be expecting it - take it on the chin knowing that there is a decent chance of getting a goal ourselves... |

I hope all Rovers fans will stand together on the terracing & make some noise
to lift the team. Not be spread out all over the place watching in silence.

Are we talking about the 12 goals in 26 league starts Buchanan? Our second top goalscorer? |

All that our players have and haven't done so far counts for nothing. In this 90 mins we need players who'll take the game to Forfar when in possession and close down and harry them when we've not got the ball. If they score then we have to have the belief we can too as I think there only been 1 league game where we haven't managed that.
We as fans have a major role to play, we could well outnumber our hosts and we need to be vocal and above all stay positive.
Even if we go a goal behind we have to back them, hell even if we go 2 behind! After all look at Sours against Ajax2-0 down in the tie and an away goal down too and look what they managed. Im not comparing us to Spurs and Forfar aint no Ajax either so let's just go shout, scream and encourage for the whole game and get this one. _________________ Competitive goals: Vaughan 19, Easton 11, Hamilton 10, Smith 9, Stanton 7, Mullin 4, Connolly 3, O'Reilly 3, Rudden 3, S Brown 2, Dick 1, Gullan 1, Masson 1, Matthews 1, Millen 1, Mitchell 1, Murray, Watson 1, OG's 1, |

If I had played half the game, score the winner and then got dropped for the next game I'd feel quite miffed. |

Wishing a good journey and a great day out, to all fans travelling - how I wish I could be there with you but instead, I’ll be avidly listening to commentary via Raith TV.
Let’s hope the team can triumph and take us to the Final; yes, it would seem almost inevitable that we won’t keep a clean sheet but, it is equally inevitable that ‘Nissy’, the goal-machine will score!
C’mon Rovers - BELIEVE!!!!!!! |
