Wonders if The Board are going to show any urgency and offer Vaughan another contract before he is able to sign a precontract agreement with any other club in January? |

Wouldn't matter. If the lad has any sense he wouldn't sign any contract we offer him. _________________ Fantalk~Often wrong but never in doubt |

To be honest I don't care if he stays with us and leaves under a pre-contract at the end of the season. I'd rather he got us back to the championship and leave on a free than sell him in January and potentially scupper our push for promotion. He is the difference in this team (which showed on Saturday by him not having a very good game by his standard but getting a goal to kick start the game) and to lose him in January would have a very detrimental effect on our journey back to the Championship IMO. Would obviously him rather sign a contract so that if he does leave at the end of the season then we get a fee for him, considering we stood by him during his injury woes then I feel this would be the right thing to do, but as long as he gets us back where we belong then I don't care if we don't get anything for him. |

Agree completely!
No doubt I'll get pelted for saying it, but there seems to this feeling that any player or manager that does well is too good for RRFC - regardless of what league we are playing in. Do Dunfermline or Falkirk fans think like that? I think not. Something has changed for the better at SP and Sim has aspirations to get the club into the Premiership at some point.
Players with far less guts than Vaughn sneaked off to find better positions than the club they relegated in the summer. Vaughn was forced to score the goal that relegated us, but came back like a real man - after the way he was treated - and did this club proud. Maybe he WANTS to stay on for a bit. Hopefully he stays, but for now, can't we just enjoy his time here instead of speculating? |

Fife Free Press today - RR are close to reaching an agreement with star striker Lewis Vaughan after contract talks took a positive turn. Chairman Alan Young said, “it’s a process we’ve been working towards for quite a few weeks. We’re getting there slowly, and while I don’t want to jump the gun, things are looking positive.”
Manager Barry Smith has been given assurances from the club owner John Sim that, barring any ridiculous offers, Vaughan will not be sold in January. |

that was certainly what came out of the Q&A last week, in that both parties were keen to try and agree a deal on a new contact, and that hopefully there would be some good news in the coming couple of weeks. |

We may well get a 'ridiculous' offer for him in January, and probably in his contract extension, but at least we'll get money. |

Club X: 'We offer you 5 grand for Lewis'
Raith Board: '5 grand???? That's ridiculous! but we can't stand in his way, you can have him' |

Breaking news - Vaughan to sign for Ayr Utd on loan in January
Seriously though, thanks Lewis. Would have been easy to see out remainder and pick a destination. Signing an extension shows the guys class and loyalty to the cause |
