Nobody within about 10 yards of you and we still can't bring a ball under control and make a pass. Our midfield is a complete joke.

Ah well! No surprise there. Not that Rangers won, but that yet again we've failed to score. I suspect there will be a lot more of that to come in the following weeks because there just seems to be no improvement. ..........Oh! And the the transfer window is slammed shut now, so no possible further solace there.

I thought we played not to badly without creating too much up front. Connolly started brightly then faded. Bates performed decently at right back although Mackay and Forrester gave him a tough time. Toshney got away with a couple of faux pas when holding the ball too long. Harry looked decent. Mark Stewart couldnt get into the game and struggled a bit. However, 1 goal against the best side in the league isnt too bad. Cant say they created too many clear cut chances either.

Harry showed good composure, some neat touches and looked to get involved. Lovely finish with what was ultimately a disallowed goal. Connolly looks a threat going forward. Longridge was more a mixed bag. The issue wasn't with the forwards but with a panicking midfield in the first half that couldn't string a pass together. Better in the second but your still constrained by playing a team that can move on and off the ball much faster than you can. It feels unfair to judge the new look front line based on this game of all games.

I though the ref was excellent. Could have potentially sent off Longridge and booked Wallace but let it cool down and only yellow carded Louis. Good refereeing that.

Thanks Renton. Gives me a wee bit to cling on to until the next game. We might even manage to score a goal or three! Razz

On Radio Scotland, Ray McKinnon was complaining that we had a goal chalked off that he felt was wrong - he was an angry man.
