Thought the team played much better today than I have seen them in a long time. They had a good shape and maintained that discipline for most of the match. Passes started to find men in space and we even had midfielders getting past opponents and sticking crosses in. Only thing missing was a good striker to get on the end of the chances we created. I think Malpas has definitely had some words. I hope we dispense with this director of football pretence and let him take charge of all team affairs. Keep playing like that and we'll be safe, maybe even scrape a playoff spot. I went home a happier man today than I have in a long time and now looking forward to next week. Some things annoyed me. We had players getting shouted at for passing back to McGurn. As far as I'm concerned if that means we keep possession then thats fine. Also players getting pelters for sending the ball backward when there was no forward option. They've obviously been told to cut out the long ball into the box getting us nowhere so I hope that continues. A few times the patience paid off with us getting an attacking break.

One last thing, Central Park has got to be the worst stadium in the division. The fence round the park took me right back to 1985. And the price of the food. £11 for two teas, chips and a hot dog. Whats that about. Saw one wee lad have to give up most of his Christmas money to the burger van. He was almost in tears.

I thought we were well worth the win. I'd have been dissapointed if we had been forced to accept the draw. In the first half in particular we were well on top but lacked the killer instinct both in terms of the final ball and finishing touch. The move we put together for the disallowed Stewart effort was superb.
The second half was more even and Cowdenbeath did create 2 or 3 decent chances but we got the goal we deserved at the end.
We now have a decent buffer over the bottom three and I hope we can use the momentum from the improved performances in recent weeks and the two wins to put together a consistent run that keeps us well away from the bottom three.

Pinched this from another forum. It describes one of our free kicks, but looking back it could easily describe every free kick and corner:

"Scott Davie on 'Open all mics' this afternoon, described one of Raith's free kicks as 'spectacularly incompetent'."

And it could be used to describe our dreadful midfield and front men.

You know me Chris,in my opinion he has not been there long enough to influence the tatics and players mentality I think this resurge is down to the payers getting their act together and if we get effort like this for the rest of the season regardless of who I for one will be a happy bunny.By the way Happy New Year Chris.

Nah don't flatter yourself,
We were merely talking about pedants, pots and kettles and your title came up.
