Don't mention that scoreline before a Fife derby! It's over 20 years on but I still wake up screaming in the middle of the night in a cold sweat over that match.

why and by whom?they are not vying for or reliant on viewing figures

me staying in scotland, paying the same TV licence would expect to see highlights of scottish games on bbc Scotland instead of continually being fed PL football highlights and English 1,2 and 3 championship highlights

I'm quite sure BBC would be happy to show Sportscene on a Saturday night instead of Sunday, but the deal Cockwomble agreed with Sky and BT prevents them from doing so.
Also, if it's a choice between Spurs v Chelsea or St Mirren v Killie, I wouldn't have to stay up past my bed time to think about it.

Anyway, back to important matters on this thread, if Nade is fit, will Murray sacrifice pace for precsence and bring him in alongside Elliott?

But they were on the BBC in Scotland, just not on BBC1.
What the schedulers did was give us the best of both, most people would be happy with that.

As for the suggested potential riot over showing SPL highlights etc, I'd guess there may probably be a bigger swathe of the populous that would prefer to watch English games rather than Motherwells, St Mirrens, Kilmarnocks and even Aberdeens of the SPL.
Watching Dundee Utd thump Dundee would have been entertaining this week I'll agree but generally speaking most weeks the better entertainment isn't to be found in the SPL games.

Everyone bring horses, we could play them at water polo instead.

Pedantic scotty? You know fine well I was talking about BBC 1 where the highlights package is normally aired

As I,ve already said viewing figures are not relevant for BBC so the populous angle shouldnt come into play. The scheduler could have put SPL highlights on before or after MOTD on BBC1 or alternatively put one of them on BBC2. Interestingly enough the rugby Edi- Glas is live on that channel now not on BBC alba

There are many duff games down in england, besides its a highlights package were talking about here not live games

Off topic I know, but I would imagine the polis were delighted at the Plastic Whistle v Sellik game being rained off yesterday. Remember the carnage at Dens Park two years ago when the Mhanky Mob went up for an evening kick off during the Festive Period?

Hearing the rain pelt off the roof just now I reckon a water-logged pitch is a real possibility.

That's a bit of a detour for me, I head up through Crossgates.

I saw what you did though.

The rain is due to stop in the early hours but central park has a pretty poor track record when it comes to postponements so a call is very possible.

Maybe it's frozen pitches they usually suffer from but they seem to have more home games postponed than anyone else.
