Y'know Tam sometimes, if I hadn't actually met you in real life, I'd swear you were a spam bot designed to trot out every hoary old football cliche imaginable. Laughing

I mean c'mon - vision? What do we mean by that, what vision? Is the guy meant to have prescience that gives him vision of events yet to transpire, or simply larger eyes providing for panoramic vision of his surroundings? Or are you simply suggesting that haivng eyes is a bonus?

As it is, Murray would be about as young a manager as you could imagine, comparable to Hartely or Cameron. God knows what his footballing philosophy is but it probably would involve trying to score goals so not too far to stretch to 'attack minded' and evidence would suggest that he can see (two eyes as well! Depth perception, no skimping for us!) - providing the 'vision' that you have identified as a much needed attribute.

Murray as manager would help carry on the good work done by McGlynn, and we would be assured of some good young Hearts players on loan, and that has to be ideal all round. Yes when JMcG went at first my ideal would have been Billy Brown but economics and the chance to blood Murray can't be a bad thing, you never know we might uncover a gem of a manager.

Got to agree Renton, whats with this vision nonsense? Unless we're appointing Stevie Wonder and Ray Charles as the managerial dream team I imagine they'll have this.

Think what you're looking for is tactical nous, something that Grant Murray may have in huge quantities, we'll never know unless we give him a try. I'd be happy with anyone who drops the pointless 4-4-2 with traditional kick and rush wingers and plays something a bit more in-keeping with modern football, but realistic of this standard.

As long as we have someone who can make us

1. Defensively sound and hard to break down
2. Creative going forward
3. Retain possession well

I don't really mind who it is.

OK cuperman i will forgive you Twisted Evil But this time i may be right?? Didnt J.McG say in an interview something about Grant taking his coaching badges and could make the grade as a manager.

I would rather the term "An economic appointment" has been used rather than a cheap option. No one can tell how good or bad Grant will be until we see his team and how they play.

If this duo is confirmed i would hope PS will be able to impart his knowledge to Grant and that together they can take up from where JM left off. No one can tell how this appointment will work out until a few results are in.

We are in agreement as thats what I posted.

Our Difference is that I would prefer cameron...............I cant accept that the wage between JM and Cameron would differ by that much ........its just that Cameron has a (short) track record which is very good where as Grant has nothing (he has been getting license's ) of a track record.

Another thing............anyone out there that has been part of a team will recognise how difficult it is going frpm being one of the boys to being the boss where you are then responsible for discipline................its a huge leap.

Its a huge test, not just of how much he has learnt up till now, but he will now have to display man-management skills on another plain..............I've got that T-shirt and others with it will concur................its not easy.
