Apathy, thats what the problem is now for me. I'll still go to the games because I'm a Rovers fan and so that is my punishment but its going to be a chore for the rest of the season unless something dramtic happens.
The young Hearts guys do look like promising players but alas it will be some other club that benefits from their development not us so i can't really get excited too much by them.
Only 1600 attended today, could we be into treble figures before the seasons out?

11 men defending a corner results in a goal from a free header. Absolutely ludicrous.

Poor team selection, poor tactics, poor performance, same result.

Having seen everyone this season we are by far the worst team in this league make no mistake. This is not a bad spell, lack of a rub of the green, bad luck - we are rank rotten and certainties for bottom unless something totally out of the blue happens and happens soon.

Not even annoyed just apathetic about the whole thing.

One positive note today - Davidson totally outstanding. Prechenko or whatever he is called could not lace Davo's boots.

I've been quite defensive of Mcglynn, particularly when people question whether he is the man for the job or not. However, tonight I really dont have faith that he can turn this round.

We are making the same mistakes every week. The team are playing far too deep and show no urgency going forward (look at Walker and Prychynenko for example, who WALK forward when we are on the attack. These guys are supposed to be creating our chances, and show very little willingness to go forward.

We try and defend in numbers, but dont attack the ball, we dont put challenges in and we arent organised and structured like Mcglynn teams have been previously. The players cant do basic things like pick a 3 yard pass out. Where is that drive and commitment we saw last season? Where is that desire? Is that only there when they are top of the league?

Nobody apart from Davidson or Mcgurn can even pretend to gain pass marks. Even the Hearts loanees looked innefective today.

Then we have the goold old defending set piece tactic. If you have every one of your players in the box, the very least you should be able to do is mark effectively. Nope. Free headers are commonplace, which is simply unforgivable. Every week we say it, this tactic is awful. How does Mcglynn not see it?

These mistakes are happening week in, week out and have been for months. It's becoming tiresome now. How is it going to get better?

We have been by far the worst team I have seen this season, and what makes me even more worried is that the two teams also involved in this relgatation battle, have both come to Starks Park in recent months and looked far far better than us.

I am the same now, a while ago I thought give him until Christmas and I am still of that opinion which just leaves next week's match away to Partick Thistle, I think anything less than a draw next week should signal that his time has come to move on.

I am past raging because we are left with a manager that continues to play players out of position, has useless tactics (i.e., 11 men defending a corner jeeeezzzzooo), a centre forward playing wide, and utterly hopeless at creating chances, a continual incredible failure in midfield, a defence that continues to make mistakes, an attack that is toothless, plays Dennis Pyrotechic who will NEVER be a football player, Walker taking corners and free kicks when the chances of a good one are 1 in 12, the list goes on.

Take today we had FIVE news players including Davo who has hardly played this season in the starting eleven BUT incredibly we play the same utter crap.

The common denominator - a manager that is clueless!

Its relegation and more financial trouble.

PS And his excuses "no need to panic" ........... get a *beep* grip!!!!!

The Hearts loanees (sans Prychynenko) need a bit more time, they had no outlet to pass the ball forward to as Baird wasn't playing where a no. 9 should be, often out on the wing.

However, if they are back at Tynie in the New Year, then I agree we are going down. Our only chance is if they stay here, but that's basically delaying things really.

When you think the alternatives are the likes of McBride, then that is really soul-destroying and will lead to 1,200 crowds from march onwards.

How many Rovers fans are gonna be Evil or Very Mad on Xmas day when they open their pressie and find a £50 4-game ticket.

I'd say get McGlynn out if we lose at Somerset, irrespective of what happens at Firhill next Saturday, cos that would mean Ayr, our relegation rivals will have won 4 out of 4 games against us.

Agree looks like we are doomed. Should the worse happen and we get relegated then unless the board reduce the admission price for crap 2nd Div football, I won't be back. Last season JM got away with it as the team ground out results, even though the football on offer wasn't great. This season we don't have a Tade who can help create something, and it's become boring to watch.

Lack of money etc etc just doesn't cut it anymore player tactics, signed players etc all fall on the shoulders of John McGlynn.

I put it to the board, if the club had money would JM still be manager considering the results at the end of last season and so far this season, i doubt it!!!!

Brutal!

Give us another half dozen Hearts kids please as soon as you like.

Davo & Dave McGurn were the only other two guys that looked like players today for me.

All of the rest of them look past it/useless or disinterested!.

Special marks to Dyer, Murray, Graham and Baird.

One/two hasn't got it, another is passed it and the other one is kidding everyone else on!

But for the Hearts kids there would be nothing worth watching at SP today.

Depressingly accurate. OK circumstances haven't been kind but every other club is in the same boat more or less, so how has everyone else managed to move forward in the same time?

Our only part-timer being MoM today and this season's PoY so far by a country mile says it all really.

The full timers are not pulling their weight, but I'm wondering if they're hamstrung by a manager who is looking increasingly inept tactically and teams are aware of this.

I agree with pretty much every other post on here but I feel it worthy to get a few things off my chest!

When we defend corners, we bring everyone back. This means that Livingston today, and every other team we will face, can push all of their 'quicker' or more offensive players forward. To give weight to my point, when we win a corner, Livingston put two players on our half-way line. This meant that we had to put 3 players back (2 of these were offensive players in Smith and Walker). Surely the rovers fans are not the only folk who realise the importance of this! If we adopt the same tactics then Livingston would have to put offensive players back also, effectively making it easier to defend against. The fact that we cannot pick men up with everybody back says it all really! If we do win the ball and I will add that I thought Davidson was excellent today, there is no 'out ball'. All we can do is 'punt' it up the park and expect it right back again as nobody is forward! I can't remember ever seeing another team deploy these tactics and it really does my head in!

Secondly, we are supposedly playing 4-5-1. I for one lost count of the amount of times our midfield was posted missing today. I've always said that our management don't seem to have the ability to change a game when things are not going for us and I stick by that. The crowd can see it but Mcglynn will do it his way, even if it is clearly failing. Unfortunately I can only see things getting worse and I feel it may be time for him to go. I actually thought the folk who were calling for him to go a few weeks back were being harsh but I can't go the rest of the season watching what I seen today!

agree with all of that,

also like has already been said weare so slow in breaking out.and lets be honest here, this team is going nowhere under mglynn apart from the 2nd division. i cant argue with the good things he has done at this club but for me the time has come for him to move on.

when we started lumping the ball forward when our manager changed to the only other tactic he uses all that was ringing through my head was thats another 3 points gone or 1 point for that matter which i would have taken so we could have got something undeserved out the game.

today i thought we actually looked like a 2nd division team, we just looked off the pace when we the team we were playing looked like a well established 1st division team which we should be.

dire!!!!!!
