This is a massive no-brainer. McNeil is not good enough. People talk about the defence having no confidence in him - many fans don't either.

You still need to ask why McGurn was dropped - he may have decided to move to a team nearer his home (PT rumours) and that irked JMcG after giving him a 2 year deal.

Just my thoughts.........

David McGurn by a country mile, you have to think there was something behind the scenes that has kept him out of the team, I fail to believe that one mistake could lead to him being dropped for the rest of the season (McNeil made a big mistake in a match and also looks very nervy). McGurn is too good a keeper to keep out of the team.

If McNeil had been dropped after his howler then I would commend JM on the way he has handed the two keepers. McGurn made a major mistake and McGlynn played his other keeper, who he signed to push McGurn. I think that was fair. First few games McNeil didnt do a lot wrong therefore I think he deserved his place in the team. However after an equally large blunder he wasnt dropped. A sign of double standards. I wouldnt be surprised if McGurn looked to leave after this. I hope McGurn stays and Im not sure we can justfy 2 keepers so would punt McNeil and use Laidlaw as cover.

Seriously its got to be McGurn even if hes signed a pre contract somewhere else, hope he hasnt cause i cant imagine our goals against record next season if were relying on McNeil.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was him or a family member that voted for him. There are many players registered in other guises on the forum, a few in the past have admitted it!

If McGurn isn't playing on Saturday then serious questions need to be asked to the reasoning behind him being dropped. If McGurn has signed some pre-contract with another club then it's been kept very hush hush which is surprising seen as these sort of things seem to leak quickly these days. So far we've heard he's either off to Dunfermline or Partick just like we've heard Tade was off to Inverness in January. For what it's worth a mate of mine is a diehard Partick fan who said he'd be very surprised if McGurn signed for them as they are apparently happy with their keeper at the moment.

It appears that if you play for Rovers and unexpectedly lose your place in the side then by default you must have signed a pre-contract agreement with another club, regardless of how many years are left on your contract.

How do you know that the manager & player haven`t come to an agreement to let the player go from his contract at the end of the season?Perhaps the player`s finding travelling from his job to training too much...we dont know whats going on but it`ll be interesting to see what happens over the close season.
