Another campaign gets underway. Not much movement in the squad apart from Angus Gunn being " pressed" into Scotland service. As usual, looking sparse on quality upfront. Not sure how the first two games will pan out but four points would be a decent start, especially with so many of our players lacking game time.
It will be a busy long weekend for fans of Scotland and The Rovers. Let's hope it goes well for both teams. |

On the plus side a fit Lyndon Dykes is available after he returned to the QPR line-up on Saturday, although he didn't score they won for the 1st time since his absence ending a run of 5 straight defeats. _________________ Competitive goals: Vaughan 5, Smith 4, Easton 3, Hamilton 2, Dick 1, Gullan 1, Masson 1, Mitchell 1, Mullin 1, Stanton 1, Watson 1, OG's 1, |

Comfortable win in the end. With two teams qualifying it’s all about the results between us and Haaland’s Norway for 2nd |

This isn’t the Spain of 10/15 years ago, not inconceivable they could drop points to ourselves or Norway, especially away from home.
The late goals today slightly glossed over what was becoming a bit of a struggle 2nd half. Result was definitely the most important thing though and we might be more suited to sitting in more v Spain and hitting on the counter |

Just watched Spain v Norway live here in Spain**. In summary, the forecast for Hampden on Tuesday is "Uh-oh". Norway without Haaland toothless mind you - just like Scotland without.... em...... er...... Dykes???
** Flying back to Edinburgh in the morning, in plenty time to get to New Brockville. What could possibly go wrong? 👍😁 |

Could well make Spain complacent too though. It could yet work in our favour as Norway will be our main rivals too. As long as we don't lose like that (or at all) on Tuesday. |

It seemed like a sell out at Hampden and plenty of the John McGinn song , even before he scored. Unfortunately after that bright start the performance tapered off and the crowd found it difficult to rouse itself until the two late McSauce goals. ( it was a great knockdown by Dykes leading to the second goal.) Cheerful enough departing to Scotland On Fire.
Adams didn't have his best game but ,if he's not fit for Tuesday , our already restricted options upfront become very limited indeed ( although I confess to know little of Jacob Brown's abilities).
Looking back this morning, 3-0 is a decent result , especially as we often struggle in our first game , having not win an opening qualifier since 2006, I read somewhere. |

Can't understand why Adams continues to get picked. He's absolutely terrible. |

Och,stop it!
He's no' that good!🙄
Seriously, he's decent enough to be in the squad but maybe not an automatic pick. Always a possible threat in and around the box if not very prolific in the scoring stakes. _________________ Talk on! Talk on!

Take it you were half pished? I didn’t think Spain looked that great, plenty of possession as per but Norway had the better chances at 1-0, Spain looked rattled, there was also that ‘assault’ by Rodri that everyone thought was a penalty except the referee!
This Spain is there to be got at, stay disciplined and I feel we have a decent chance of a result |
