If true, the best piece of damage limitation work JMcG has ever done, bar none. Yes, he's a good player, so happy with that, But boy did he ever have it in for Rovers.
I met him once. While he was at United, of course trained every day at the Uni in St Andrews, so I saw all that lot quite a bit (AT THE GYM - NATCH!). I only really spoke with Laurie Ellis, though - but one time JK came over, and Laurie introduced me to him, mentioning the Rovers connection. Keatings smiled broadly, and said, I quote "Oh, I do like a goal against Raith Rovers, I've managed it each season for every club I've played for, all the way back to Hamilton days".
If he's on a PCA anyway, can we not just get him before next week's double-header? |

That'll do wonders for the morale of our current strikers coming up to the end if their contracts and maybe hoping for a renewal |

Or it Might shake up some who have so far been reluctant to discuss new terms.
I think this is a wee statement of intent from Rovers, wouldn’t be surprised to see more of the same happen. _________________ Competitive goals: Vaughan 5, Smith 4, Easton 3, Hamilton 2, Dick 1, Gullan 1, Masson 1, Mitchell 1, Mullin 1, Stanton 1, Watson 1, OG's 1, |

Disagree. First, I can't imagine Duku will be staying. Gullan's position out of our hands. Timmy will be long gone. Ugwu - who knows? Who would you have up front with him? We await Jack Smith's development, other youngsters still too young.
And don't forget Keatings' versatility - he can play deeper and/or wider, as well as out-and-out striker.
No doubt for me - very positive news for all concerned if true |

Dont get me wrong I'm delighted if its true , but we've still got 11 league games to go and need to score goals , just concerned that some may not give 100% |

Hey, AR, I get what you're saying. However, if any of our players reacted that way to the challenge posed by a future new squad member, then I wouldn't want them anywhere near our starting eleven anyway. |

Lets hope they do give their all and one or two would like to stay if offered
It pleasing to see that work is being done behind the scenes for next season though
The gaffers got his finger on the pulse early |

Big guys, Manny and Gozie, in no way resemble wee Keatings . This season suggests that JMcG likes a tall main striker (Timmy also in that mould ). The boss may have a different role, off the main striker, in mind for Keatings (if the story is true). Personally, I'm not convinced that either Ugwu or Duku will be with us next season, anyway, but the signing of Keatings wouldn't alter
their prospects, IMO.
James Keatings has intrigued me for a while . From what we Raith fans see , he seems to have been under-performing in recent seasons. JMcG and Smudger could change that. Awaiting an announcement...... |

He would be our second signed forward for 2021-2022, next to Mahady (corrected from Smith). I see no issue where this might demotivate the current forwards, instead if gives Ugwu and Duku incentives to perform to either be retained or offered elsewhere.

Keatings has 13 goals v Raith Rovers.
Presume he won’t feature v us for rest of season? Hope not anyway, just cause problems/pain/conspiracies.
Am I thrilled with this signing? Nope, hasn’t looked the same player last few years but he has it in him and if we are the right fit for him then his best form could easily return... |
