Can we get a wee break with injuries and illness and somehow sneak a win here, or will the gods conspire against us once again |

They'll always be the Lichties to me-ever since they were vying with us for promotion in the late sixties. Albert Henderson was their manager and their Board complained about the appalling language coming from our dressing room at half time on one occasion (George Farm was the alleged culprit!). |

Been having a wee browse on the Zambian team, seems our own Ian Porterfield managed them back in 1994, from the wiki page:
He was given the task of rebuilding the Zambian team following a tragic air crash in 1993 that claimed the lives of many of the nation's most gifted players. With the Zambia national team, he finished second at the 1994 African Nations Cup. _________________ http://www.helpforheroes.org.uk/ |

That would be after the game in early April when they rolled into town and beat us 1-0 with a Jimmy Jack goal. George was absolutely incandescent after that game. I know for I was there (Max Boyce circa early 1970's)😉
Everyone thought our chance of promotion had gone but a miraculous last minute extra time goal in the second last game of the season up at Montrose in a rearranged midweek fixture meant a win at home in the last game v QoS would give us second place.
And lo! It came to pass 😊
PS The crowd was over 8,000 that day with special football trains being run from Arbroath.
Changed days indeed.🥺 _________________ Talk on! Talk on!

You are referring to my first ever Rovers match. Typically, I wasn't at the next one, the thumping of QoS that secured promotion |

I remenber getting on the supporters bus at the Port Brae for that Montrose game , and the frustration that followed cause we couldn't score..........and the elation when Bobby Stein hit the back of the net in the dying seconds the rest as they say was history |

Could Raith have apples (that was an autocorrect for applied - I’ll leave it in to cheer myself up) for a postponement due to players being on international duty? After all the premier division program is off because of players being on international rosters.
Anyway good luck to the survivors of last weeks debacle. _________________ Here Wee go again |
