A more recent line up but might be a bit more difficult.
This time it is from 2009 and the team that went to Hampden and won a title, the League One Championship.
1. An easy one to start with. The clue being he is best keeper I have seen play for us and as recently as last season could have still been appearing between the sticks at Starks.
2. In my opinion a very capable full back who played every minute of every game for two seasons between '07 and '09.
3. A no nonsense centre half who played over 130 games for the Rovers and pitched in with an impressive 18 goals. Also appeared for Ayr and Falkirk.
4. First signed for Raith by Jimmy Nicholl this fan favourite would win numerous honours in the Scottish game as well as 100 caps for his country.
5. Midfielder who started off at St Johnstone before making 140 appearances for Queens Park before joining Raith where he would play over 80 matches. Would then leave for significant spells at Stirling Albion and Albion Rovers.
6. McGlynn described this guy as our dead ball specialist and he didn't disappoint when he floated in a sumptuous free kick into the top corner against Arbroath to help secure a vital win during the run in. I also remember him doing something similar at Bayview earlier in the season.
7. Only played for two Scottish clubs. Firstly Dunfermline but then more extensively for Raith. Would then go on to play in Iceland for a number of years before sadly having to retire due to injury at the age of 29. Maybe best remembered for scoring at East End in a 2-2 comeback match.
8. Easy one. Was still playing for us last season.
9. This midfielder made more appearances for Hearts than any other club in his career which also included Dunfermline, Alloa and QotS.
Remembered by Rovers fan for a goal against Dundee in a Scottish Cup quarter final.
10. His father played for Raith as well and he scored a vital winning goal this season away to Stirling Albion that swung the title race in our favour.
11. A real dynamo of a forward who started off at Hearts where he famously scored two late goals against Hibs in a 4-4 classic. Would score the winning goal against Queens Park this day to win us the league. _________________ Fantalk~Often wrong but never in doubt |
