Gavin I remember years ago there was a concert held in the Ice Rink, now I know your a busy man. But would it be possible to hold a RTR one day event in there. The way I see it it's pretty secure there are bar and catering facilities a sound system and of course it would be ice free. Don't jump down my neck now, it's just an idea not for this year but maybe looked at for the future. There is also decent parking there a good chip shop and a couple of pubs for anyone requiring a breath of fresh air. Anyway keep up your sterling good work. |

Bollox to the icerink, hold the event at SP immediately sfter the last home game and all procedes go to RRFC.
All you'd need is to rent a marquee for a couple of days.
Have the POTY events on the 1st Saturday after the last home game and RTR on the Sunday. SP has it's own licences and I'm sure MCC will be willing to cater to the masses. _________________ Competitive goals: Easton 5, Vaughan 5, Smith 4, Hamilton 2, Dick 1, Gullan 1, Masson 1, Mitchell 1, Mullin 1, Stanton 1, Watson 1, OG's 1, |

Fife council wouldn't allow it plus the residents of Pratt Street would veto it with regards to what the Rovers did to their parking right. A no-goer Scotty am afraid. |

Son of Wallace has done tremendously well in the past 10 years with this event. I'm sure he will agree with this however I'll stick my neck out a bit here and say this.
Where he needs the most help is in areas like promoting the event to the wider public with advertising through all media streams available like radio, fly posting, local papers and online.
Support with better sponsorship of bands and a little bit of support from the club itself with the likes of players perhaps turning up for the event or something like that. Also for people to turn out in large numbers on the day.
It's a large task organising an event with a lot of running around and many hoops to jump through to try and keep everyone happy which is not easy. Perhaps the newly formed community group can help out with this at the next one when he decided to go for it again.
Either way it's a great day out and worth going along to see some new and old bands. _________________ Only on fan talk can supporters find a negative in a 5-0 win. 🤔 |

Why what did the Rovers do?
Bought the lock-ups from the residents? If they're not happy with that they should take it up with the people who owned them at the time and sold them to the club.
As for the rest of of Pratt Street they can't park on, they couldn't park on it before either when it was the old turnstiles.
As I recall the reason the residents got uppity was when RRFC refused to let them park in the club car park and installed a barrier.
The other issue with the cooncil would be the main problem me thinks. _________________ Competitive goals: Easton 5, Vaughan 5, Smith 4, Hamilton 2, Dick 1, Gullan 1, Masson 1, Mitchell 1, Mullin 1, Stanton 1, Watson 1, OG's 1, |

I think the cost of hiring a marquee would be an issue as well - several grand per day. _________________ Dougie Hill

If the club had more sense in the mid nineties we would have designed Starks like the Amsterdam Arena with a roof |

If RTR comes back and it may be for a one off gig and it wont be at starks park or the ice rink thats for sure.Too much hassle to get licences etc for a start.I would like to think that i will get full support from everyone including players to come along on both the saturday for the community day and the sunday for the gig.Its just an idea although 1 or 2 folk who were involved over the years are intereted in playing again.I have also spoke to someone in the army who will be able to get some troops along to run a stall or do demonstrations. If anyone has any SENSIBLE ideas about community events then get in touch. It will be a fundraiser for RAITH ROVERS COMMUNITY FOUNDATION and RAITH ROVERS F.C. _________________ YOULL NEVER WALK ALONE

What's the plan for the takings this year? Will all the money be going to the club or is it being split across a number of charities again? _________________ Nothing to see here... |

This year at this moment in time the money will go to the club and the raith rovers community foundation. If i decide to add a charity to that it will be a last minute thing but dont foresee that. _________________ YOULL NEVER WALK ALONE
