Pfft, just an everyday save for oor Davie. Nothing will surpass his triple save against Ayr Razz

Today went to show we have two very capable goalkeepers on our books,I think this has not happened for quite a few years now.Unfortunately you can only play one at a time. Laughing

After yesterday I think Andy McNeil should be rested and Davie McGurn reinstated. It may instill some confedence into our back four for the run in.

Not the only change I would make. I think Murray is needing a break (should never have let Stewart turn him inside-out for the 1st goal), so if Laurie's fit, slot him alongside Sparky.

Other changes needed too...will post in the Stirling match thread.........

Is it true Mcgurn doesn't train with the team at all now since they don't train at night now?

Got to be said that he is the best keeper i have seen play for the Rovers. Hopefully he'll be our goalie for a few more seasons.

Me too. I felt he could have done better for Imrie's goal, but by jove, he pulled off a terrific double save and a blinder of a penalty save, diving to his weaker side.

So far, he's been my player of the season, and he was also the PotS back in 2009/10.

If I'm still around, I'm gonna sponsor his wall tile when he gets old enough to be called a legend Wink

Davie MUST be a candidate for best RRFC goalkeeper ever. What a keeper.

We have had some great keepers in my time Bobby Reid, Thomson, Van de Kamp and the great Murray McDermott however, I think David McGurn is proving the best of them all.

Best shot stopper I can remember anyway.

His kicking from the ground would be the one thing I would love to see improve.

We were talking about this yesterday and were in agreement that the one thing that seems to be McGurn's weak link is probably his communication. There's been a couple of times where a break down in communication with his defenders has, or has nearly cost us a goal.

Scott Thomson would still be the best Rovers keeper I've ever seen - there was a spell from the season we were in Europe when he was genuinely being spoken about for the Scotland squad, and not just by Rovers fans. McGurn is quality but that has never happened to him (yet.)

And to think he was dropped last season and replaced by McNeil ..........unbelievable and one of the costlyiest decisions ever as who knows what league we would be in if that decision hadnt been made

While I agree - its time to put last season behind us and concentrate on this season.

Edited to add - I'll give it a fortnight before someone has to remind me of those word.
