Whats the story with our best goalkeeper we have had since Murray Mcdermott.
The guy makes one mistake and is out.John Mcglynn says he hasn't been happy with quite a few of his recent performances but i cant think of anything he's done other than play his usual excellent self.
The man is too good a keeper not to be playing every week and if not i could see us losing him which would be an absolute scandal.

Have you read the other fans assessments of the matches he has played in. Seems to me we have two excellent goalkeepers with very little, if anything to choose between the two.

J McG is the manager and he knows what he is doling. be satisfied we are in the position we are currently in.

Yes be satified with our position and do not question our leaders opinion.
You would have got on fine in eastern europe 20 years ago with that attitude!

McGurn is a great goalie and I'm sure he'll be back between the sticks at some point, and will hopefully be all the better for his spell away from the field.

McNeil has played well for three games in a row and doesn't deserve to be dropped. Until such tie as that's the case he'll be our number 1.

McNeil has been fine so far. I'm going to trust the managers judgement again with this one. I know Stirling and Cowden haven't exactly been attacking forces but he has still done well will everything asked of him. That said I can understand why people feel it is harsh on Davie. He looked to just be getting on with things and will do his best when he gets his chance.

I was fuming before yesterdays game about McGurn being left out again, however after seeing McNeil in action (all be it in a quiet game), I think his distibution is far better than Dave's and he communicates better with the defence.

As far as shot -stopping goes, McGurn is the best in the Division and will no doubt get his chance to reclaim his place over the next few games. I believe McGlynn has learned from the Fahey/O'Connor debacle that he can't keep swapping the keepers around.

As much as I feel sorry for McGurn, and still feel that he is our best goalie, you can't argue with McNeil so far. He's been solid as a rock.

Brave decision by McGlynn to drop Davie but McNeil has been excellent in all three games he has played in fact I think he has got better in each game.

McGurn is without doubt a class act but in McNeil we have an excellent second choice - he has had to bide his time and given the jersey its his to lose.

Much as I liked Gary O he was always emergency cover. In Mcneil we have a real alternative and that surely has to be a good thing for Davie and the Rovers.

I only wish McGlynn was as brave in other positions.

Andy McNeil's taken his chance and deserves the run. However, I do feel it was a bit harsh to drop Davie as he was a massive reason why we went up in 2009 and stayed up last year.

It could be that JMcG is forward-planning in case we do win the title. Both Davie and Andy are part timers. He may feel that Andy is the likelier of the two to go full time.

If we go up, the last thing we need to do is splash out on giving part timers full time contracts or giving anyone huge wage rises or extended contracts.

As far as our GK's are concerned, I reckon both are good enough to do that job ( for a season ) on a part time basis.

Or perhaps JMcG feels Andy deserves his chance, simple as that.
