|
|
A few seasons back I had Christmas cards made and sold them in aid of the club. They were quite popular and was wondering if it would be worth doing it again.
I was thinking about 2 designs:
These images are from the official website and therefore permission will be needed from them. The club will also need to approve. Last time all profit went to the club, I would rather have the money go to the trust this time.
What do you think? Any comments would be welcome.

Some rough 'mock-ups'.
Again the pictures included belong to the official website and their use will need to be agreed.
Any comments welcome.

Yeah I like them, if they became available in the club shop/online/the Mercat or wherever they could be a good, and interesting purchase.
Unless I was Jamie Mole, then I'd be rather unhappy that I'd been omitted from the end of the bottom card. Fortunately I'm not so I can like them. _________________ "I'd much rather be playing Bayern Munich and be competitive for thirty minutes, than murdering Stockport 8-0 in the Freight Paint-Rolling Trophy or whatever it's called." |

Unfortunately the template would only allow a certain size of picture which meant either him or John were going to be cut... and as John was cut out of the picture on the SFL site, and Mole is only here on loan... my decision was made. Nothing more in it. |

That's cool - I was only making a (poor) joke anyway. I like them and think it could be a good idea as it's something that's a bit different for us to have club cards. _________________ "I'd much rather be playing Bayern Munich and be competitive for thirty minutes, than murdering Stockport 8-0 in the Freight Paint-Rolling Trophy or whatever it's called." |

OK, the Christmas Cards aren't happening... instead they are going to be blank greetings cards (which can be used for Christmas). They will be sold in packs of 8 for £4-ish with £1 minimum going straight to the club.
The cards are as follows- (thanks to Jim Foy for allowing the use of his pictures).
I will post details when they arrive (in about a week) and how to buy them. Numbers will be very limited. |

They will be for sale online for sure, where else don't know right now. They are being printed as we speak, so I will let you know when they are availible.
In terms of money to the club, I need to make back some of what I have invested in the project! As it stands (due to the quantities) each pack will be costing a little over £3 to produce and if you think about it I will be donating more to the club than the cards will make. I will already be making a slight loss. Needless to say the higher the quantities the cheaper that they are to produce - if I was able to say for sure that I would have sold 200 packs, the club would be getting more from each. Unfortunately, I have to be realistic and say that would be unlikely.
If these are popular I do have a few other ideas for fund-raising 'products'. but that is for another day. |

The cards have arrived!
Unfortunately I have had problems with the company that was supplying the envelopes - so there will be a slight delay on these. I should have them on sale in the next couple of days, with dispatch by the end of the week. |

Thanks to all that bought the cards. If I was to be honest I could have doubled the number and still sold them all... but I didn't. Anyway, I had and sold 50 packs, and despite higher than expected costs (envelopes for the cards!!!) I am pleased to let you know that I will be dropping off £50 to the club either tonight or tomorrow.
I would like to know if this would be a good thing to do again next year. And if so, what you would like in terms of design. What is the maximum you would be willing to pay? |

Cheers Stephen well done again.
The action shots are great and the team photo brilliant. Maybe if used for a Christmas card and action shot of Tade or Bairdie scoring in a snow scene
I would be happy paying £4 for four cards |
