I've waited 8 years for the chance to go to a competitive Raith v Pars game... and on Saturday I will be there.

I guess this game means more because I missed the first 2 games - the cup game because it was in midweek and the league game because of family commitments(my cousin's wedding! Embarassed)
Don't get me wrong, this game means everything to everyone - such is the nature of a derby game, but this means more to me personally because of the above reasons... added to the fact that when I started following Rovers, one of my ambitions was to see the club play The Pars in a competitive fixture.

Roll on 3pm Saturday... when butterflies will be in my stomach along with immense pride at seeing just how far my beloved club has come. I'll take us for a 2-1 win.

to be honest i dont tend to enjoy the games against the pars, probably due to the fact that i am a bag of nerves from the first minute right up to the final whistle just because i can just about take getting beat rom any team but not this lot,im praying for a victory on saturday, will even take a draw.

same as yourself will settle for a draw, but a scaby injury time winner from all of 6 inches I could accept especially against them.

Jeeso,
i just wish i could see the team. How about a pre season tour of Australia.
Loads of happy memories v that lot. Who could forget the the time we put six past them. The millennium game at san starko, Dargo`s goal at least end. Thomsons goal at east end as well in the 1-0 win.
Come on Rovers any win will do, i will be listening & watching. A draw would be ok.

I'm actually seriously not looking forward to this mainly because I'm already a bag of nerves. The mere thought of them bombing down Pratt Street giving it big licks if they beat us is enough to make me spew.

A few pre-match pints will no doubt settle me.

We have a good bond within the team which it would take a big effort for the scum to beat us on Saturday.

We will win or it will be a draw.

I reckon the crowd will be announced as about 4,000 and the match thread will be full of people arguing about the attendance instead of talking about the match.

I have been well impressed by our fighting spirit this season and reckon we will get a narrow victory. Hopefully we will get through the game with no further injuries or suspensions.

Here's a description from a Dutch football site, trying to describe the Fife derby. A good attempt and surprising to see this from a renowned football country.

Got this link when I went onto the DAFC forum........

http://translate.google.co.uk/translate?prev=hp&hl=en&js=y&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.doingthe116.com%2Ffifederby.htm&sl=nl&tl=en&history_state0=

We've beaten each other 6-0 once (us in 1947; Pars in 1962)

Well worth a read, despite some dodgy translation! Managed to work out that profit means biggest margin of victory, not the number of fans that will be 'officially announced! Laughing

We beat the Pars 6-0 on New Years day 1982.

Whoops, correct. Got a bit cross-eyed trying to decipher the translation - 1947 refers to the 6-1 victory, the most goals scored in a Fife derby game Laughing
