Last season a group of us did a sponsored walk along the Fife Coastal Path to Methil before watching our victory in last derby match of the season (the match featured a mysterious appearance by a trialist at centre half, and turned out to be the start of the run of results which led us to the championship!)

The sea air may have been affecting us, but on our way we talked about doing another walk this season... "with a bit of luck it'll be to East End Park rather than Bayview" we said at the time. Well we got our bit of luck, and with the first league match against the Pars for over 9 years just a few weeks away I'd like to find out if anyone would be interested in walking all or part of the route with me. I'm going to walk the full 17 miles, but you could also join at Aberdour (approx 9 miles from Dunfermline), Dalgety Bay railway station (5 miles) or anywhere else along the route.

All proceeds from the walk will go towards the Raith Rovers Youth Development Initiative - the Trust raised over £7000 last season including £1200 from the walk to Methil. If you'd like to help raise funds for this great cause, or if you'd like to donate to it, email me or PM me using the links below.

PS No, don't be silly, I'm not doing the walk twice that week.

I'll be unable to do this this time around, as we're playing the pars supporters team in the morning.

I would have done it, but my cousin has decided she would get married on the same day!! Crying or Very sad

Sorry guys, but family comes before football in my life. Best of luck to anyone who does the walk if it goes ahead.

When I first saw this post, I imagined an organised march from the Elisabethan to East End, with every man woman and child bedecked in blue and white, and taking up the full width of the road.

The Elizabethan will be our last refreshment stop on the route, and I'd love it if we were joined for the last few hundred metres by a mass march. But I'd also love it if a few more people did the whole walk (or half of it, or whatever) - remember, all funds raised will go to the club so it's for a very very good cause.

A sponsor form can be downloaded from http://www.raithtrust.org.uk/sponsor_form.pdf if you would like to take part. Please also get in touch with me so we don't leave without you!

The chances are that you'll be joined by myself plus a few guys from the MunRovers at the Elizabethan for the last kilometer of so.

This is true. I would have loved to have done the walk aswell but I have to make sure the pars supporters team gets dealt a drubbing first.
