Me too, so, Wolfie, 11 years since what? |
Think that’s the date Glasgow Rangers went into administration, didn’t die and reincarnate into Sevco until the summer though. |

Not to be cynical, but aren’t we playing into the other *bleep* cheeks hands when we refer to sevco? Celtic fans use/used calling Rangers sevco to remind them of their questionable legitimacy, but do we really feel any better about the money grubbing, cheating hoors that are Celtic? |

Hardly exclusive to Celtic fans in reminding Rangers’ and their support that no matter how they dress it up, they aren’t the same entity as before.
I try not to lose much sleep over the two of them and their largely scummy, bigoted fanbases. Best left to themselves.
On the grand scale, probably dislike Rangers slightly more but they are gonna be filling our coffers shortly so cheers for that! |

Thanks for the reminder SB..............have to admit that that year was particularly onerous on the family health front so matters of this sort were a bit down on the priorities front. _________________ Keeping the Faith (and the Missionary work!) |

Exactly, and the Rangers do deliver the geld better than the Hoops, so you take what you can get. Besides, it’ll be a fun match with the fans of 41 clubs cheering us on at Ibrox! |

I prefer to go with the slightly more recent memory..... I can't believe it's just over eight years ago now. So let's do it again! 😁 |

Are you forgetting Rovers part in the whole debacle. The new club applied to get entry into the Premier division, taking the share owned by the old club. They were denied this by the other 41 clubs. One of the most vociferous chairmen who denied them entry to the top league was none other than our own Turnbull Hutton. After failing to get into the top division that had to apply for entry to the bottom tier (neatly sidestepping the other clubs who were in place for that free position). So, in their fans eyes we were one of the "Rangers haters" clubs. I believe there were threats to torch Starks Park and credible threats made to the club secretary that required police protection for a time for him and his family. So no love lost there then. |

Not forgetting a bit, but wondering why we don’t at least somewhat equally tweak the Hoops various missteps rather than following their lead. It is frustrating that the OF so dominate fitba, to the point of almost destroying it, so I’m just loathe to encourage anything either side like.
As for Hutton, “Huzzah”! |

That's not quite the way it happened.
The SPL and SFL were two separate entities at the time and the SPL voted not to admit the newco Rangers.
They then had to apply to join the Scottish Football League (at third division level, naturally), but the powers that be (Regan, Doncaster and Longmuir) attempted to parachute them straight into what was then the First Division (now the Championship), so they would be back in the Premier the next season.
That's where Turnbull Hutton led the dissent against this, with his famous 'sporting integrity ' phrase and the other SFL clubs backed him overwhelmingly. _________________ Dougie Hill

Yup, think it was 25-5 the sfl clubs voted to start them at the bottom as opposed to in Championship.
10 out of the 11 top flight clubs (Killie being the one) voted to punt them out in 1st place.
Turnbull stood up and spoke out against them when many others wouldn’t, respect to that man |

I believe our own Eric Drysdale was on the 3 man panel that put them in league two, hence the threats to him and his family and Rangers 'fans' threatening to burn down Starks Park.
I love my club but I wouldn't go anywhere near their shitehole of a ground ever again _________________ http://www.helpforheroes.org.uk/ |

The media 'Luvvie' cheeky chappie Ally McCoist demanding to name the people on the panel when it was common knowledge, further stoking the controversy. _________________ Hope he's got plenty Rovers action to comment on tonight.... |

He was part of a three man panel who imposed a transfer embargo on them, preventing them from signing players whilst in administration.
That was around April 2012, because at our last home league game of the season, v Queen of the South, you had Rovers fans of pre school age being bodysearched on the way in, as a result of the threats to burn down Stark's Park. _________________ Dougie Hill

You are absolutely spot on in your correction of my post. I’ve had too much Speyside single malt in the intervening 11 years 😀 |
