A little light math…Ibrox capacity 50,817.

Maximum away allocation of 20% (if we ask for that much) would be 10,162. If Partick can get the crowd to 44,646, surely we can match that…so let’s say…

Assume Rangers push for £22 again, you figure a gross gate about £810,000 if the average price is £18, and £675,000 if it’s £15.

GLT is $3,900, since it’s already at Ibrox…VAR should be about £5,300, again since it’s there. So, 5% to the SFA, plus 20% to Rangers, and another £9,200 to pay for GLT/VAR…don’t forget VAT (another 20%)

If the lower end £675,000 - £135,000 (VAT) - £135,000 (Home 20%) - £33,750 (SFA 5%) - £9,200 (GLT and VAR) = £362,050 / 2 = £181,025

At the upper end £810,000 - £162,000 - £162,000 - £40,500 - £9,200 = £436,300 / 2 = £218,150

Oh, plus £600 in travel expenses from the SFA. So we make between £181k and £219k…not terrible, and Rangers are beatable.

Edit: Forget £24k for the TV.

We’ll make decent money out of this, but nowhere like 4 or 5 thousand travelling fans, Different story if it was the semi-final. A lot easier for Partick fans to get to Ibrox, and they have more fans.

Partick had just under 2,500 at Ibrox.

I presume we will get the same section without filling it

Falkirk showing emphatically that lightning doesn't strike twice, albeit against ten men for a fair bit of the second half.

The Romance of the Cup is all very well but, in our financial situation, I'd rather see us being in a position to start to sign up some of our soon to be out of contract players, for a real tilt at promotion ( and a Scottish Cup run ) next season .
This way that can happen, whilst there is still the chance of a real Cup shock as well.
Only a matter of days ago, we were fearing for the future of The Rovers, so we should count our blessings.

This! If Mr Macdonald sticks to his word, then that puts paid to the forboding threat of hybrid football. Takeover or no takeover, lets get our best players signed for next season - and maybe another loan player now that we have some pennies on the way!

As for the draw, it will do me! A few weeks ago people were seriously questioning whether or not we would even see off Linlithgow Rose. Then it looked like it would be a case of just giving it a good go v Motherwell. Now we have the tie that the club was wishing for, albeit we had to fight to get there. Whatever happens, I'd far rather away to Ibrox than crash out to Ayr or Inverness on some dodgy refereeing decision!

I'm not sure how Partick were given such a big allocation, maybe demand due to geographical area but I'd suspect we'll get that poxy wee corner (think it holds about 800) and to be honest we'll be doing well to fill that.

The corner does hold this but as it'd a cup game we have to get a certain percentage if we request it. Possibly 5% of capacity, not sure.

I was there when we dumped them 2-1 in the cup, Conroy and Nade scoring. We had little over 100 fans that day!!!!

Yeah it’s 700/800 that section they give to Celtic these days. Hard to say exactly but I suspect we would sell around 1,200-1,400 so might ask for 1,500?

Up to 20%, if we request, HAS to be allocated to the visiting team. There is no proviso for Rangers to be able to refuse a request of 20% of capacity, but that would be pound foolish of us, cutting off our nose to spite our face. I suspect we’ll request, and get, something in the 2,000-3,000 seat range, and probably pretty well fill it.

“29.1 For any Match, excluding the Semi-Final Matches and the Final Match, to which admission is wholly or partly by ticket and/or by cash admission at the turnstiles, the Away Club shall have the right to claim admission for its supporters of up to 20% of the spectator capacity of the Registered Ground at which the Match is to be played.”

Nah, Tex, we won't get close to that figure.
Like Badpress, I was one of the 100 or so fans there last time when Nade scored our winner. Why so few? Same as it ever was.
The over-riding feeling from the vast majority of our supporters was the endurance of bigoted hatred coming from home "fans" was too much to put up with in order to follow our team, so most didn't bother.
Similarly now, when I was asked my preference for the quarter final draw this time round, my answer was "anywhere but Ibrox". But that 1 in 14 chance has come up. Friends have already commented they doubt they'll go. And I understand that.
But I'll be one who does attend. I very much doubt we'll reach four figures, though....

We have an allocation of 2600. Think there will be a lot of empty seats in the away end.
