If we get through it's a winnable tie, but we'll no be able to bring a Striker in on the strength of it I would think

Based on Motherwell’s form it’s winnable and should bring in a good 3,500-4,000 attendance.

It’s an exciting draw, would be refreshing to see infrequent visitors return to Starks Park… just need to get the heads screwed on and make sure it happens!

Sounds about right, as they brought 2,000 to Arbroath. We’re a novelty team, no visit since 1999, and no match since 2007…both in the Cup.

Didn’t know they took 2,000 to Arbroath, Impressive numbers!

Clearly the ‘magic’ of the cup resonates with their support, all the more reason we need to be progressing on Tuesday as 3,500-4,000 might be a low estimate based on those figures. Maybe 2,500ish in each end? Ching-ching

If we get past Linlithgow, I could easily see Motherwell bringing 2,000-2,500 and us getting 2,000-3,000. A 5,000-6,000 attendance would be nice, as that’s easily around/over £100,000, so we’d probably pocket a nice £40,000 plus.

Hypothetically as we still have to beat LR and that's by no means a given, and then it all depends on what the ticket prices would be, if it's £20 and £13 then I'd guess an average of about £16 x 5000 (can't see it being many more) so that's £80k, if £22 & £15 then an average of £18 and £90k all less stewarding/policing expenses and the rest split 2 ways. (£35 to 40k ?)

Add in £3-4k for hospitality, Tv highlights appearance money £20k (maybe more) and £48k for a potential exit fee.
Not sure how the Tv thing works these days but it used to be paid by the minute, if you got goals highlights you got money and if you were a featured match you got a lot more. I don't see a tie v M'well being televised live but it may get picked up as a feature game on BBC Scottish Cup Sportscene.

Getting through to play Motherwell could be worth at least around £100,000.

Looking at the draw dont see why a potential cup tie against Motherwell wouldn,t be considered for live TV coverage

TV companies are interested in ratings and I think other clubs will bring more eyeballs to their advertisers than us and Motherwell. You never know though.
It's a good draw for us though and it piles even more pressure onto the Rose match. People often talk about the budget that McGlynn had but its worth remembering that he washed his own face in that regard by doing well in the cups. By doing well in the cups I mean not getting dumped out of the cups by teams we should be beating and then beating clubs that we had a good chance of beating. Had Murray got us out of our league cup group instead of faltering against Dumbarton and Stirling then maybe he'd have had a bigger budget to play with now?

Reasonable numbers, as I understand it , the TV money is a fixed amount now. The admission is a minimum of £8 adult, but must be agreed between the two clubs…and if agreement isn’t reached, the home club’s regular adult admission applies…so I’d expect the prices to be that £20, although Motherwell may suggest £25 (their current Tier A price).

I feel the same myself, would rather watch a competitive game with reasonable chance of an upset than the likes of Celtic v StMirren but it’s all about £, numbers and ‘fairytale’ stories for the TV.

Only chance Motherwell are making the TV is if Linlithgow dump us out..

This. Raith have one of the better fairy tale stories for the BBC to play with, and we do play an attractive end to end game, even if we can’t score.

And almost certainly a TV match v Falkirk now instead of plucky Raith, eh?
