PostPosted: Tue Oct 25, 2022 9:49 am    Post subject: £5 promotion Reply with quote

I invited a relation and his 6 yr old son without reading small print
Not wanting to disappoint I’ve paid full price for his ticket
Someone commented that over 65s might not have any living contacts
That is a stupid comment
A promotion like this for senior seasons could have a spin off for youngsters attending as well with the adult
I’ve emailed Laura at the office but so far no reply
I’ve only just joined this form so thought I was a lone voice but far from it
Some time ago Raith released a ambition programme that included achievinga home crowd of 2000
This latest fiasco is not the way to do it

Thanks, Bando…I believed it was an obvious attempt at poking fun at the Club for this fiasco…sorry if it offended you.

TxRover
I’m to advanced years to be offended
I get where you were coming from
I’m new to this site
My point is so long as a senior is either still working or not reliant on the £175 state pension then there is scope for additional income
Example £5 ticket for adult son maybe he has 1 or 2 young grandsons
Total income £15 not £5

Absolutely agree, which was why I was poking fun at this silliness by the club. Cheers!

I phoned Rovers & was offered an extra ticket for £5. I was also told that this scheme will be improved in future. If you can invite an extra person just give them a call.

To what extent is the £5 BAF ticket a bonus for ''Adult'' Season Ticket Holders (who pay the full price)
and to what extent an attempt to boost the crowd by bringing along someone who normally does not attend but might return if they enjoy the experience?
I ask because if it's a bonus then that's fair enough ,especially as some who take advantage of the scheme will be paying in someone who normally comes along and pays a larger sum at the gate.
If Seniors are to be included ,then there is more of an element of trust that it's possible new recruits or
lapsed fans who are getting the benefit of a £5 ticket.

Any initiative has to be monitored and assessed and continued or, if necessary, adjusted or abandoned in the future.

Attendance last week was +400 over this week. Visiting fan numbers were, as I recall, similar.

I think the Thistle fans outnumbered the Accies fans by 2:1 - I think they said were less than 200 Accies fans today and about 400 jags fans. The crowd in the south stand looked similar to last week from where I was sitting ibehind the directors box (2 rows behind). The puzzle for some of us was why a large number of Raith fans were leaving well before the end. About 6-7 minutes. Great game today but we don’t seem to create a lot of atmosphere anymore from the crowd - maybe in built reticence born of a lack of belief or fear of an Accies recovery blitz.

Thistle had roughly 400 last week, Hamilton brought 118 yesterday.

Therefore home support was the same or better.

I can only assume they were running to catch the number 1 bus to the Gal'ton, Willie.
Can't think of any other remotely plausible explanation.

OK, so the £5 brought roughly 100 fans extra…call it £500?
